Thomas John Ellis (born 17th November 1978 in Cardiff) is an actor who appeared as Oliver Cousins in EastEnders from January to May 2006.
Before Tom became an actor, he wanted to be a physiotherapist for the football team he supports, Sheffield Wednesday. He's a sporty chap and likes football and golf. Tom cites the biggest influences on his career as his school drama teacher and a family friend who encouraged him to go to drama school.
Tom played a sports reporter in the BBC One update of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, he also played policemen in the Mike Leigh film, Vera Drake and High Heels and Low Lives. One of Tom's main TV roles was Frank Bennett in BBC drama Nice Guy Eddie, in which he starred alongside Ricky Tomlinson. He guest appeared in David Renwick's romantic comedy Love Soup as Mike, opposite Tamsin Greig. He's also had roles in Waking the Dead, Messiah 3, Linda Green and The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby.
