Simon Atmore made his first appearance on 25 July 2016. He was portrayed by Tom Palmer.
Simon is an animal lover and has a pet cat. His mother and father separated when Simon was young, he spends weekends with his father and weekdays with this mother. He gets on really well with his step dad. His mother tells Pam that Simon's cousin, who is gay, would always come over and play computer games with him, and she cannot understand why he would murder Paul.
Simon is a man who was arrested off-screen on suspicion of the homophobic murder Paul Coker. When Paul's boyfriend Ben Mitchell attends a police lineup, he fails to identify the attacker. As Simon leaves the police station, Ben tells Johnny Carter that he was one of the people in the line up. Simon is greeted by a friend, who Ben recognises as one of Paul's attackers, so Johnny photographs his car's number plate as he drives away.
In a episode dated 26 August 2016 Jay Mitchell mentions Simon works in Shoreditch at an estate agent. In an episode dated 29 August 2016 Jay finds out that Simon lives at 76B, Building C, Cromwell Estate. He is later sentenced to 30 years in prison.
