"Shrimpy" made his first appearance 14 April 2014. He is portrayed by Ben Champniss. He is most commonly seen in the background but has an occasional speaking role
Storylines[]
Shrimpy is a stall-holder that sells hats and men's clothing on Bridge Street Market. His stall was previously located on Spring Lane Market, but he relocated due to the closure.
On 20 January 2017, he attends the funeral of Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell. Shrimpy was working during the Bus Crash, however he survived the incident and helped rescue those who were stuck. On 14 February 2017, Donna Yates states that her and Shrimpy always keep valentines free from each other until he got a girlfriend. On 27 February 2017, he participates in the pancake day race. In May, he attends a meeting about saving the local community centre. In June, he attends Abi Branning’s twenty first birthday party. On 27 June 2017, Donna mentions Shrimpy is on holiday. In July, Shrimpy helps Carmel renew her passport faster, much to the annoyance of Denise and Kush.
On 7 September 2020, a man stole his money bag from his stall, however he was stopped by Callum Highway and Jack Branning. On 16 March 2021, Kim Fox mistakes Shrimpy and his sister for a couple. On January 31 2022, a rogue trader steals some of his stock. He later participated in the charity boxing match, and is seen in the vic with frozen peas after, implying he lost. On 2 June 2022, Shrimpy met Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles with Winston and Marie Evans
When Avery Baker arrives on 4 July 2022, Shrimpy is one of the market traders that tells him to reverse, however when Avery Lies about his cat dying and him being on the way to the vet, Shrimpy and the other traders let him through and move their stalls. Avery later invites all the traders to the Vic and pays for drinks for all of them, however Shrimpy does not attend. On 12 July 2022, Shrimpy gets Martin to order him a Decaf Sot macchiato, Kathy calls him Pretentious sod and says he’ll have to have frothy or not-so-frothy as the cafe is busy. On 25 July 2022, Eve Unwin short changes Shrimpy when covering for Suki at the minute mart and offers to make it up to him by giving him extra bacon the next day. On 1 December 2022, Mick Carter says to Shrimpy he hears he's a pinoist and Shrimpy plays music on the Queen Victoria pub piano. He is present when Sonia Fowler breaks the news of Dot Branning’s death.
On 9 February 2023, Shrimpy is seen comforting Debbie after Phil Mitchell trashes the minute mart. On 24 April 2023, Shrimpy, Luke and Winston watch the boxing match at The Boxing Den. On 18 July 2023, Shrimpy plays the Piano for Kathy and Tom Cotton at their wedding party.
On 23 May 2024, Shrimpy wishes Whitney Dean good luck before she leaves Walford.
