Shireen Bashar was the girlfriend of Harry Mitchell, who was murdered by Harry's mother, Nicola Mitchell. She was first mentioned on 21 October 2024.
Storylines[]
On 21 October 2024, Jack Branning continues to feel suspicious about Harry Mitchell and contacts his co-workers in the police to find out more about Harry's past. To his horror, he finds out that Harry is involved in the vanishing of his -girlfriend Shireen, who is suspected to possibly be deceased. Jack tells this info to Harry's girlfriend, Penny Branning, in a bid to get her to distance herself from him.
Later on, Penny Branning meets with Harry Mitchell in The Arches and questions him about Shireen. He initially says that he did 'do her in and got rid' but only says this as he believes it is what Penny wants to hear. Penny later returns and apologises to Harry, where he explains that Shireen was a fiery character in their chaotic relationship and that he absolutely did not hurt her, saying that he would never hurt a woman. Penny chooses to believe Harry. After this interaction, Harry visits Jack Branning and tells him that Jack will not find anything about his involvement in Shireen, and that other members of the police in Dartford have tried before but have all failed.
It is later revealed Shireen was pregnant when she died. And Nicola paid Benji Haynes to bury her body under Paradise Park in Dartford. Shireen is found when the work on the redevelopment of the park begins and Benji is arrested.
