Paul Coker is the son of Laurie Coker and the grandson of Les and Pam Coker. Paul was previously and unseen character being mentioned numerous times.

Backstory

When Paul was younger and he looked up to his grandfather Les Coker he would sit on Les knee in the Hurst and pretend the Hurst was the Batmobile and that he was Bruce Wayne and Les was Alfred the butler.

Following his father’s (Laurie Coker) death and his mum leaving the family when he was quite young, Paul has grown up in the protective bubble of his doting grandparents, Pam and Les Coker.

Paul is closer to Pam and they will happily spend weekends together, but he has a strained relationship with Les, after discovering during his GCSE's that Les was having an affair with Claudette Hubbard, which resulted in Paul leaving Walford for two years as he didn't want to ruin Pam's life, so he went travelling and worked as a Club Rep.

Paul went to a fancy dress party in Bodrum, he went as a Spanish flamenco dancer and had fun until he found out some beggar was using his castanet as an ashtray.

Storylines

Paul arrived in Walford planning on staying his grandparents Les and Pam Coker, he nearly knocks Lola Pearce over with his backpack and is immediately told to apologise by Ben Mitchell. Paul then has second thoughts about about staying to see his grandparents.

Later that day Paul is Blades and Ben arrives to get his hair cut Paul then slip his mobile number into Ben's pocket. The two meet up later and share a kiss, Ben tells him he is lucky to have a family that cares about him and Paul changes his mind about staying. He then goes to Bridge Street Market to find his grandparents.
