    • 2000 - Last appearance: Josie McFarlane, Having forgotten to renew her visa, she is threatened with deportation and is forced to return to Jamaica, leaving Kim McFarlane in Mick McFarlane's care. She promises Kim she will return when she sorts out her visa.
    • 2008 - Last appearance: Selina Branning, she is visited by Ronnie Mitchell and speaks to her about Jack not being allowed to see their daughter, Penny Branning. It is revealed that Penny is in a wheelchair, paralysed from the waist down. Jack sleeps with Selina in his club's office and they are seen by Ronnie's sister Roxy Slater.

    • 1988 - First appearance: Melody, a troublesome school friend of Junior Roberts, on whom she had a crush on. They were mischievous, doing things such as stealing dogs from their owners and then claiming rewards when they return the dogs, professing to have found them, or charging children to see a free Punch and Judy show.
    • 2016 - First appearance: Tim Reynolds, the brother of Joel Reynolds, who has been killed in a speedboat accident along with his wife Stephanie Reynolds. Tim meets Joel's former girlfriend Ronnie Mitchell in The Queen Victoria.

    • 2010 - Last appearance: Al Jenkins, he begins to lose interest in Roxy Mitchell. he is then offered another job in Cornwall and begs her to leave with him. After she declines he leaves [Walford]].

    • 1987 - First appearance: Tina Hopkins, she is introduced as Ian Beale’s girlfriend. Ian’s friend Kelvin Carpenter takes a shine to Tina and makes several passes at her, which she shuns.
    • 2016 - Last appearance: Dean Wicks, he pleads not guilty to sexually assaulting Linda Carter, he is remanded in custody until his trial. Off-screen, Dean is acquitted of attempted rape and Buster pays him off, warning him not to return to Walford again, which infuriates Shirley.
    • 2016 - Last appearance: Shabnam Masood, she makes Kush recite the triple talaq to end their marriage, and although Shabnam says that they must lead separate lives, she admits she still loves him. Shabnam and Jade leave Walford in a cab.
    • 2008 - Only appearance: Roger Grant, a dodgy old friend of Mo Harris who sold some clothes to Stacey Slater for her stall. Mo was insistent that the stock was faulty, and tried to make the dye on a shirt run by pouring tea over it, and when Jean Slater tried to wash the tea stain out, the top broke in the washing machine.
    • 2018 - First appearance: Dan and Ashley, they are the potential adoptive parents of Daisy. They have already had Daisy stay with them for a night when they have dinner with Daisy's foster parents, Arshad Ahmed and Mariam Ahmed.

    • 2009 - Last appearance: Roger Clarke, he also explained that it didn't mean anything and he would change. When he said all this, he said come back with me to Florida. Linda accepted. So on the 6th February 2009, he and Linda went back to Florida. .
    • 2009 - First appearance: Syd Chambers, a nurse who worked in the Walford area. After meeting Bradley Branning she started to eventually date him. Soon after this she showed Bradley her son Noah Chambers and they started a proper family.
    • 2017 - Last appearance: Emerald Fox, she reveals that Denise Fox was brought to her as a baby and she felt she had no choice but to raise her as her own. Emerald says she is still Denise Fox's mother and then leaves. Over a year later, Kim Fox and Denise take a DNA test, which reveals that they are biological sisters and that Emerald lied.
    • 2017 - First appearance: Zayan Scott, a schoolboy, who taunts Shakil Kazemi over his explicit photo. He and Shakil later have a violent fight.
    • 2018 - First appearance: Hunter Owen, he is first seen when Mel Owen returns to Walford working for her sister-in-law, Ciara and its revealed she is keeping Hunter Owen, from her until she finds the money stolen by Aidan Joseph Patrick Maguire.
  • 7 February
    • 2005 - First appearance: Amanda Parry, a friend of Chrissie Watts, appearing just before Chrissie and Den Watts are set to renew their wedding vows. She is aware of Den's nefarious behaviour and dubious associates, and sympathises with Chrissie over Den's affair with Zoe Slater.
    • 2008 - First appearance: Edward Tunstall, a councillor who meets Ian Beale at a council lunch and wants to throw a party, so decides to use Ian and Christian Clarke's events organising business, Fit for a Queen, to organise it. He assumes Ian is gay, and asks him out for a meal.
  • 8 February
    • 1990 - Last appearance: Marge Green, her cousin Fred arrives in Walford and cons her into becoming his invalid mother's companion on a cruise ship. Despite Mo warning her against it, Marge feels obligated to care for her sick relative and she leaves Walford.
    • 1994 - First appearance: Carmen, she is employed by Richard Cole to work on Sanjay Kapoor's clothing stall on Bridge Street Market. Carmen begins to pester Richard to give her the licence for the pitch on a permanent basis.
    • 2013 - Last appearance: Zainab Masood, she says she has always loved Masood Ahmed over their marriage, but admits to her to sins. She and Kamil Masood then leave, returning to Pakistan.
    • 2016 - First appearance: Thelma Bragg/Linzi Bragg, Thelma is a pub landlady who comes to The Queen Victoria when they host an event for "East London Lady Publicans". She offers Nancy Carter a job as assistant manager at her pub, the Rat and Ferret, and then leaves with her daughter, Linzi Bragg.
    • 2018 - Last appearance: Ciara Maguire, Mel Owen hands over the money to Ciara and Mel is reunited with Hunter Owen. When Ciara discovers she does not have the all the money, she tells Hunter that Steve died in a car explosion, not a heart attack as Mel claimed and was a villain who killed Saskia Duncan.
    • 2019 - Last appearance: Hayley Slater, she attempts suicide by stepping out in front of a minibus driven by Keanu Taylor, she tries to stab herself with a screwdriver and is then admitted to a psychiatric hospital. She later flees from the hospital, leaving only a note saying sorry to Kat.
  • 9 February
    • 1988 - First appearance: Kenny Beale/Elizabeth Beale, he arrives with his daughter from New Zealand, Kenny and meets Pete Beale for the first time at his and Kathy's flat. Kathy tells Pete that Elizabeth is an apprentice engineer.
    • 1989 - Last appearance: Trevor Kellow, his mental health deteriorates and he becomes severely paranoid. Shortly after, Trevor is found dead in his cell, having hanged himself on the morning of his trial.
    • 1993 - First appearance: Sanjay Kapoor, he is first seen in Albert Square as a friend of market inspector Richard Cole, who comes to persuade him to bend the rules and give him a pitch in the market for his clothing stall.
    • 2004 - First appearance: Dom Shaw, he is a board member on the Walford Community Centre committee. When Sharon Watts wants to hold a 2004 Valentine's Day ball in the Community Centre. she needs to get an alcohol license.
    • 2017 - Last appearance: Babe Smith, when Abi Branning tells Ben Mitchell she is pregnant when in fact she is not Abi asks Babe what to do, Babe encourages her to get pregnant by with someone else because soon Ben will expect her to start showing. Abi is frightened at this but Babe tells her that if she does not have a baby she will lose Ben.
    • 2018 - Last appearance: Dan, he and Ashley later collect Daisy from Arshad Ahmed and Mariam Ahmed's house.
    • 2018 - First appearance: Hayley Slater, she is first seen in Walford taking photos of Stacey Fowler and Martin Fowler. Whilst in the café, Hayley looks through her phone and answers a phone call, asking if the caller had received any photographs.

    • 1999 - Last appearance: Ruth Fowler, its suggest by Conor Flaherty he and Ruth resume their relationship and bring up the child together but she refuses, choosing to be a single parent and returns to Scotland, rejecting Mark Fowler and Conor as she leaves.
    • 2013 - First appearance: Steve Lowe, he is introduced as Bianca Butcher's probation officer. Steve appears when he visits Bianca at her home. He later meets Bianca in the café and takes a liking to her mother Carol Jackson.
    • 2016 - First appearance: JJ Johnson, the son of Jordan Johnson and Amelle Ellington. Jordan's stepmother, Denise Fox, tracks Jordan down at the squat he is living in following a visit from the police, and Jordan says that Amelle is dead from a drug overdose. .
  • 12 February
    • 1996 - Last appearance: Steve Elliot/Lydia, he is frantic but he eventually finds Lydia distraught after the mobsters had attempted to drown her. They threaten to kill Lydia if Steve testifies. Fearful for their lives, Steve packs his things and he and Lydia leave Walford.
    • 2004 - Last appearance: Dom Shaw, he discovers Derek Harkinson's conviction, he sacks him, but is persuaded to reinstate him by Martin Fowler. He later obtains a license for the Community Centre himself.
    • 2010 - Last appearance: Todd Taylor, as her feelings for Billie Jackson start to deepen, Whitney Dean breaks up with Todd, despite his pleading with her to give him another chance, but she remains cold with him, and he leaves the Square in tears.
    • 2010 - Last appearance: Manda Best, she pretends that she still has feelings for Phil Mitchell and ends her relationship with Minty Peterson, leaving Walford. Several months later, her son Adam Best tells Minty that Manda is dating another man.

    • 1989 - Last appearance: Queenie Price, when The Firm discover Den Watts is not the informant, he begins to suspect that it is Queenie. Den concocts a plan to catch him out. He gives him the false name of a drug dealer and as he predicts, it isn't long before the police are questioning Den about him, confirming that Queenie is the "grass".
    • 1999 - Last appearance: Susan Rose, after her husband Michael Rose ended his affair with Lisa Fowler within weeks after Susan wanted Michael to move away with her to Leeds. Susan and Michael left Walford together and Susan was unaware of Michael and Lisa's fling. Although Michael occasionally returned to Walford.
    • 2003 - Last appearance: Mark Fowler, he is told by his doctor that his body is rejecting the medication that will prolong his life and slow down the onset of AIDS. Accepting that he will not live for much longer. He makes a tearful farewell to his family and friends and rides off on his motorbike, although he remains in contact with family.
    • 2014 - Last appearance: Danny Pennant, he builds his relationship back with Lucy Beale leading to them having sex then they are caught by Shelley Cram. After Lucy is found dead, Danny is ruled out as a suspect in her murder investigation as he had, according to the police, left for Marbella weeks ago.
    • 2017 - First appearance: Preston Cooper, he is a former student of Michelle Fowler's, who she had an illegal relationship with, in Florida. he arrives in Walford unexpectedly on Valentine's Day.
    • 2019 - First appearance: Dinah Wilson, the ex-girlfriend of Mitch Baker and mother to his daughter Bailey Baker. It is soon discovered that Dinah suffers from multiple sclerosis and is looked after by Bailey.
  • 15 February
    • 2019 - Last appearance: Harold Legg, he and Dot Branning are watch a programme about the Battle of Cable Street in 1936. In his final moments, he tells Dot about how he met Judith Legg at the anti-Fascist demonstration. He tells Dot about the first time he kissed her, before passing away. Dot tells Dr Legg to go kiss her again.
    • 1996 - Last appearance: Kevin, her last appears, where he and Robbie get a free haircut from a trainee hairdresser. Robbie is given highlights, which turn out disastrously, much to Kevin's amusement.
    • 1996 - First appearance: Michael Rose, he was chosen, randomly, to be the best man at Terry Raymond's wedding (which was later called off). He settled in Walford as a Market Inspector .
    • 1999 - Last appearance: Saskia Duncan, she attacks Steve Owen with a champagne bottle and attempts to strangle him with his tie. Matthew Rose, breaks up the struggle, but Saskia, hysterical, fights him off and goes for Steve again. Steve reaches for nearest object, an ashtray, and gives Saskia a brutal blow to the head, killing her instantly.
    • 2001 - Last appearance: Eddie Skinner, It is revealed that Nick Cotton had spent some time in prison with Eddie and is about to reveal this to Pauline Fowler, but Eddie tells her first. Eddie later leaves the Square, his whereabouts are currently unknown.

    • 2008 - First appearance: Lucas Johnson, he is the estranged father of Chelsea Fox, she tracks him down and discovers that he is a preacher. Lucas explains that he was seventeen when Chelsea was born and abandoned her and her mother Denise Fox as he could not cope with fatherhood.
    • 2009 - Last appearance: Danielle Jones, she died in Ronnie Mitchell's arms after being hit by a speeding car drove by Janine Butcher.
    • 2017 - Only appearance: Pru Garcia, she is a ward hostess who asks Michelle Fowler if she would like a slice of toast and later asks her which sandwich Michelle would like.
  • 4 April
    • 1985 - Big Ron arrived.
    • 2008 - Last appearance: Melinda, she later learns her father will not give her £25,000 as a property deposit, so she quickly leaves in a bad mood. Later, Ricky announces that he and Melinda have split up, and Bianca tells Pat that Melinda was responsible for Ricky's lack of contact with their son Liam Butcher.
    • 2014 - First appearance: Lee Carter, he is the son of Mick Carter and Linda Carter. Lee is in the army and his not initially move to Walford with the rest of him family as he serving in the Army. He later takes leave to visit his family.
    • 2016 - Last appearance: JJ Johnson, he leaves to live with his mother Amelle Ellington after Denise Fox found out Jordan Johnson his father lied about her being dead.
  • 5 April
    • 1988 - Last appearance: Elizabeth Beale, she brings back a friend to Pete Beale and Kathy Beale's to stay. After having a brief row, Pete wants his flat back to himself. Kathy tells them Pete will run them back to the YWCA. Elizabeth later returned to New Zealand.

    • 1998 - Episode 1599, the first hour long episode was broadcast, the first episode to have a scene before the title sequence is shown and the first time Kathy's Theme was used.
    • 1998 - Last Appearance: Cindy Beale, the former wife of Ian Beale. Cindy is arrested for attempted murder of Ian.
    • 2008 - The end of this episode was featured in the documentary Britain from Above, which describes when the credits of EastEnders rolls, the National Grid requires more power to power a surge of kettles. The phenomena is know as TV pickups.
    • 2011 - First appearance: Cora Cross she turns up at her daughter Tanya Branning's house unannounced, and revealing that Tanya's fiancé Greg Jessop invited her to their wedding against Tanya's wishes.
    • 2015 - Last Appearance: Stan Carter, Stan's health rapidly deteriorates over the night, Stan hints to Shirley that she should put her family problems to rest, before dying peacefully.
  • 11 April
    • 1994 - This episode marks when EastEnders increased its output to three episodes per week.
    • 2016 - Recast: Ted Reilly took over the role of Johnny Carter.

    • 2002 - First appearance: Nana Moon, the grandmother of Alfie Moon and Spencer Moon, who moves to Walford to live with them in The Queen Victoria pub.
    • 2010 - First appearance: Edward Bishop, the leader of the local church choir. After the choir's performance on Christmas Eve, Edward collects money for the church organ and becomes friends with Dot Cotton.
    • 2019 - Last Appearance: when he is exposed as a cheat outside his flat in front of an audience, and Honey Mitchell throws him out of the flat, hitting him in the face with a bin.

    • 5-8 December 2003 - First/Last appearance: Liza Moon, the estranged wife of Alfie Moon. She had not seen Alfie since he was sent to prison for credit card fraud, but Alfie visited her when he wanted a divorce so that he could marry Kat Slater.
    • 2008 - First appearance: Ahmet, an ex-boyfriend of Suzy Branning. Suzy's dog, Prince, went missing but after she received a "special postcard" she immediately knew who had taken him.

    • 1994 - Last appearance: Shelley Lewis, she and Michelle Fowler attend their university graduation ceremony. Shelley is there with her fiancé, and has found herself a job with a publisher who plays golf with her fiancé's father.
    • 2002 - Only appearance: Chris Wright, he is the original applicant for the job of bar manager of The Queen Victoria public house who is usurped by Alfie Moon. Chris arrives to talk to the landlady, Peggy Mitchell. When Chris confronts Nana Moon (thinking she is Peggy) about Alfie having his job and insults Alfie, she tells him to leave and threatens to set the dog on him.

    • 1989 - Last appearance: Reggie Thompson, he fails to show up for the dance competition with partner Ethel, because he and Gladys have checked out of the hotel and run away to be together.
    • 2000 - Last appearance: Ameena Badawi, Sonia Fowler hands Chloe Fowler over to Ameena, who takes Chloe into foster care. Ameena is later promoted, and Sonia's case is taken over by Diane Irving.
    • 2006 - First appearance: Jay Brown, the son of Jase Dyer, who father is murder and Jay is looked after by Billy Mitchell.
    • 2007 - First appearance: Oscar Branning, delivered by his father, Max Branning because it was too late for Tanya to go to hospital. The midwife is not present, so Max has to follow her instructions over the phone. Oscar is named by his sister, Abi Branning.

    • 1997 - Last appearance: Jacques Butcher, he was born in France to Diane Butcher and an unknown man. Diane leaves Jacques with her brother Ricky Butcher and his pregnant wife Bianca Butcher when she follows her boyfriend.
    • 2008 - Last appearance: Ahmet, he later met up with Suzy Branning in the park and revealed that Suzy had previously lied about a pregnancy with him. He gave her until Christmas to get the money she owed him.
    • 2017 - Last appearance: Charlie Cotton/Matthew Mitchell Cotton, he realised Roxy's agenda when she tried to stall him from leaving. A train arrived hiding Charlie and Matthew, leaving the sisters to think he had taken Matthew. However, when Ronnie heard Matthew crying, it was shown Charlie had left Matthew and jumped onto the train.

    • 1998 - Last appearance: Bruno di Marco, he and Luisa di Marco decide to take a trip to Italy to discover their homeland together, before it is too late. When they get there they like it so much that they decide to stay. A few weeks later they telephone Rosa to say that they are not returning.
    • 2001 - First appearance: Tom Stuart, the vicar for the parish of Walford, and one of his earliest appearances is conducting the wedding ceremony of Dot Branning and Jim Branning on Valentine's Day.
    • 2009 - Last appearance: Louise Hills, she returned to tell Whitney that a verdict is expected on whether Tony King will be sentenced.
    • 2009 - First appearance: Qadim Shah, he is first seen meeting his daughter Amira Shah's new boyfriend, Syed Masood and his family: Masood Ahmed, Zainab Masood and Tamwar Masood. When Amira storms out, Qadim suspects it is Syed's fault and wishes that Amira stops seeing Syed.
    • 2013 - Last appearance: Ava Hartman, She takes a new job and decides her son Dexter Hartman should stay in Walford because he has his own life now. Ava then thanks Cora Cross, calling her "mum", and leaves.
    • 2018 - Last appearance: Morag Morgan, Ian Beale then takes over the choir. Following this, Jean Slater discovers that Morag missed the deadline for entry into the Battle of the Boroughs choir competition, but the choir perform a carol concert in Albert Square on Christmas Eve.

    • 1990 - First appearance: Ken Raynor, the stepfather of Disa O'Brien and Ginny O'Brien. Unbeknown to Sandra Raynor, Ken sexually abused both her girls. Disa ran away from home to live rough on the streets of London, turning to prostitution to survive.
    • 2003 - Last appearance: Edwin Caldecott, Jim Branning is geared up to fight Edwin, but when Dot Branning appears at the community centre, Jim is distracted and Edwin takes the advantage to get first the punch in, knocking Jim flat. Dot decides to let Jim think he won afterwards.
    • 2009 - Last appearance: Tony King, he is found guilty for grooming and raping Whitney Dean and sentenced to 13 years in custody. Over three years later, Whitney attempts to visit Tony in prison, but she is told that he killed himself in his cell.
  • 19 December
    • 2016 - First appearance: Fred Cole, a Detective Constable who visits The Queen Victoria. DC Cole then questions Linda's husband Mick Carter as he caught on CCTV taking part in the theft of a christmas tree.
    • 2017 - First appearance: Felix Moore, first seen as a customer in Bridge Street Cafe that asks Kathy Beale, who to speak to about renting a stall on the market.
  • 20 December
    • 1990 - Last appearance: Pearl Chadwick/Henry Chadwick, Clyde Tavernier cannot bear to lose his son, and he follows the Chadwick's to the airport and persuades them that he can give Kofi Tavernier the stability he needs. Clyde brings Kofi home to Walford in time for Christmas, and the Chadwicks leave to Jamaica.
    • 2004 - First appearance: DI Christopher Riddick, a local police officer. Riddick first appears following Paul Trueman's arrest for running drug errands for Andy Hunter.
    • 2016 - Last appearance: Derek Evans, he tells Sharon Mitchell that her step-daughter must take priority of Jay Mitchell and that he needs to move out or Child Services will take her.
    • 2017 - Last appearance: Manju Patel, when Billy Mitchell is out buying nappies, Mrs Patel gets help from her nephews to get into the flat and remove Honey Mitchell, the children and all their belongings. She offers Billy money as a good will gesture but Billy refuses to accept it.
