Nicholas Donovan is an actor who appeared as Guido Smith in EastEnders from 1988 to 1989.
His first television role was in 1984 in the television series The Brief, he only appeared in one episode portraying a character named Terry Mumford. Next came, Sacred Hearts in 1985 his position in the production is currently unknown, and then Gems, The Bill and The Four Minute Mile in 1986 and 1988.
His big break and his most famous television role came when he landed the part of Guido in EastEnders the gay partner of graphic designer Colin Russell, the actor suffered from controversial agony from the press as back then it was so rare to see a gay couple on-screen. EastEnders was one of the first television productions to feature an onscreen homosexual kiss - on the lips and that was between Guido and Colin.
Donovan's departure from EastEnders was scripted but never pursued, so it is unknown what happened to his character Guido. His last known television contribution was in 1990 in the television series Waterfront Beat appearing as the character Harvey Sallinger.
