Natalie Ann Cassidy (born 13th May 1983 in Islington, London) is an English actress who has portrayed Sonia Fowler in EastEnders originally from December 1993 to February 2007, before reprising the role between February 2010 and January 2011, and again from January 2014 to April 2025.
Cassidy's other television credits include The Catherine Tate Show, Psychoville, Mandy and Motherland.
She has won two awards at The British Soap Awards, best actress and best dramatic performance from a young actor or actress. Cassidy attended Anna Scher theatre school and ventually landed the role as Sonia Jackson. Cassidy lost her mother when she was 19 years old and on the 16th March 2010, Cassidy announced that she was pregnant with her first child.
