Mr Franklin made his only appearance on 16 October 1995. He was portrayed by Mike Haywood.
Storylines[]
A teacher at Walford High School who taught Michelle Fowler and Kelvin Carpenter. In 1995, Michelle walked passed her old school and greeted Mr Franklin as he walked out of the school gates. He remembers her well and calls her "Mouthy Michelle Fowler". She compliments him by saying that he was one of the best teachers, but he explains that he no longer enjoys his job. He said that teaching used to be about education, but now it's more about ticking boxes and covering your back. He no longer finds any fulfilment from his job and is just working for his pension until he has enough money to leave Walford. He invites her in the pub for a drink, but she declines.
