Maya Houssain made her first appearance on 29 May 2024 and last on 21 August 2024. She was portrayed by Bharti Patel.
Storylines[]
Maya first appears on 29 May 2024 as she bumps into Harvey Monroe. She asks him if a cab office is close, and he informs her that he is a 'cabbie'. Harvey tells Maya that he's about to eat his breakfast but agrees to help her out when he notices that she is a 'lifelong' Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) football supporter, the same team as him.
On 4 June 2024, in a conversation with Harvey, she mentions that she had a husband who passed away in 2023. Its is later revealed that Maya tracked down Harvey in an attempt to get money from him. Her plan fails when she drops a letter and it's revealed she doesn't live in a small flat like she said she did and Harvey heads to her home. When he arrives, he finds her husband, Abdul Houssain, and learns his son, Aaron Monroe is the one who attacked him and that Maya is struggling to afford to care for him. Maya shows regret for what she's done, saying she wished she could hate Harvey for what his son did, but she can't as he's a good man. He then tells him to leave.
