Magda 'Mags' Czajkowski made her first appearance on 5 May 1987. She is portrayed by Kathryn Apanowicz.
Storylines[]
Magda is half-Polish, half-English. She came from Leeds and ran her own catering business called Symphony Foods. She first appeared in the Square in 1987 to help Den Watts with the catering at the Queen Vic, following Angie Watts' departure.
Magda and Den become romantically involved and she often stays overnight at the pub. Magda sees their romance more as a bit of fun, and, while Den's away, she starts a relationship with Simon Wicks. When Den returns he sacks Simon from his job at the Vic.
As her relationship with Simon develops, Magda decides that she wants to live permanently in Walford and rents Kelvin Carpenter's basement flat while trying to buy a house in the Square. Over the space of 8 months she ends up getting gazumped three times in a row, with the third time coinciding with her breaking up with Simon. Upset and exhausted, she decides not to settle down in Walford after all and goes to live in Fulham with a friend who has a spare room and which is closer to most of her clients.
On 17 February 2017, Shirley Carter says that Kathy Beale will cook some Polish food as she use to know a Polish girl called Magda.
