Lynne Marie Slater (previously Hobbs) made her first appearance on 18 September 2000 and her last appearance on 2 July 2004. She is portrayed by Elaine Lordan.

Backstory[]

Lynne mother Viv Slater went into labour during a visit to Clacton Lido in Essex. Mo Harris helped delivered Lynne who was born on the changing room floor.

Storylines[]

Lynne was a furious adjudicator of good and bad, despite the fact that she wasn't generally ready to try to do what she said others should do. She had a violent relationship with spouse Garry, yet despite her protests about him, it turned out to be Lynne's infidelity that put their relationship in danger some time before Garry wandered.

Lynne is the most established of the Slater sisters and she showed up in Albert Square in September 2000 with the remainder of her loved ones: father Charlie; sisters Kat, Little Mo and Zoe, and grandma Mo.

Lynne was involved with hapless repairman Garry Hobbs and she invested quite a bit of her energy miserable over Garry's failure to focus on their relationship completely. All Lynne truly needed was to wed Garry, settle down and raise a family. Be that as it may, in spite of the fact that Garry adored Lynne he was at first reluctant to lose his 'lone ranger status' and he thus invested quite a bit of his energy evading Lynne's not exactly unpretentious clues about marriage. However, Lynne (and the other Slaters) wore Garry out and the two in the long run got ready for marriage.

Lynne worked in Ian Beale's bistro and she frequently conflicted with associate Janine Butcher, who would constantly slack off at work and flirt with Garry to annoy Lynne. This finished with Lynne ultimately getting Janine terminated and the two were nemeses from that point.

In 2001, Lynne became cordial with womanizing club proprietor Beppe di Marco and she would frequently be put upon to keep an eye on his child Joe. The pair before long became drawn to one another and shared a few kisses. She even had a casual hookup with Beppe just before her wedding to Garry. Beppe felt that Garry didn't merit Lynne and he endeavored to prevent Lynne from wedding him by turning up at the register office and stirring something up with Garry. Lynne was enticed, however she chose to proceed with the wedding eventually.

The marriage didn't go without a hitch, nonetheless, and in 2002 Lynne wandered once more, this time with her ex-sweetheart Jason James. Jason was Lynne's ex, who had dumped her at the alter the day of their wedding and afterwards escaped to Mumbai, India. After an opportunity meeting, the two revived their issue. Jason needed to make another go of things with Lynne and nearly convinced her to leave Garry and live with him away from Walford. In any case, right without a second to spare, Lynne adjusted her perspective, picking to remain with her family as opposed to depending on her instinct. Garry pardoned Lynne as he was frantic to cling to her, yet the trust had gone from their relationship following Lynne's subsequent disloyalty.

In 2003, there was another Lynne's marriage, however this time it was Garry who wandered. A tanked casual sexual encounter with the wedded Laura Beale finished with Laura falling pregnant with Garry's child, and after Laura's husband Ian tossed her out, she asked on Garry for cash. Lynne had been frantically pursuing for a child during this time and she couldn't pardon Garry for fathering a youngster with another lady. Lynne expeditiously tossed Garry to the control and the two stayed isolated for quite a while later. During their division, Garry proceeded to 'mess everything up' by moving in with Laura and having a casual sexual encounter with Lynne's other sister, Belinda Peacock.

In spite of this, Lynne was in the long run convinced to allow Garry another opportunity and in 2004 she fell pregnant. A pre-natal output affirmed that she was expecting a girl, who Lynne wanted to name Vivienne after her dead mother. However, everything went horribly wrong soon thereafter, when a poorly assembled carnival ride fell in the Square and Lynne was covered under the rubble. Lynne got out, however later in medical clinic, she began getting serious stomach pains. The specialists informed Garry that on the off chance that they didn't play out a caesarian segment, then both child and mother would die. Garry realized that Lynne wanted a 'natural' birth, yet he consented to the caesarian segment in order to save her. Lynne endured this, however sadly her child did not and Lynne was left unable to have children. When Lynne arose from the medical procedure and was informed of the sad information, she became crushed and faulted Garry for the entire wreck.

She was angry with him for consenting to a medical procedure and couldn't even look at him. Upon the arrival of her little girl's burial service, Lynne concluded that her marriage with Garry was finished. She felt nothing remained for her in Walford as all that was there was an unpleasant reminder of what she'd lost. She left to stay with her aunt Jean Harris and her departure left Garry a wreck. Lynne's last appearance was in July 2004.

Lynne and Garry have since separated and in 2007 the Slaters heard news that Lynne was engaged to another man. In January 2011, Charlie leaves on Walford to live with Lynne.
