Louise "Lou" Mitchell (also Fowler) is the daughter of Phil Mitchell and Lisa Fowler, sister of Ben and Raymond an adoptive sister of deceased Denny and mother of Peggy. She was engaged to Keanu Taylor until she found out he is the father of her stepmother, Sharon’s baby.

Storylines

Louise is the daughter of Phil Mitchell and Lisa Fowler. Lisa and Phil had a violent, turbulent relationship. After Lisa ended her relationship with Phil and moved in with Mark, it is revealed she is pregnant. However, she keeps this secret as Phil keeps belittling her in public. On Mel Owen and Steve Owen's wedding night, Phil says that he never loved her and suggests that Mel gives her tips in the bedroom. In revenge, Lisa steals a gun from the e20 nightclub and shoots Phil. He survives and confronts her after leaving hospital but realises that he drove her to it and frames his enemy Dan Sullivan instead.

Wanting to keep Phil away from her child, Lisa and Mark Fowler marry, claiming that he is the baby's father. Everyone believes it and their romance becomes real. Lisa gives birth to baby Louise, and Lisa tells Sharon Watts, that Phil is Louise's father. Sharon, however, tells Phil that Louise is his daughter and he forces them to accept he will be part of Louise's life. He dumps Sharon and demands Lisa to change Louise's name to Louise Mitchell, which she does. Louise is taken by Steve Owen (Martin Kemp) as he drives to the airport to leave Walford, but Phil chases after Steve, who crashes his car. Phil manages to rescue Louise and goes back for Steve, but the car explodes into flames, killing Steve. Despite initial animosity, when Lisa sees Phil with Louise, old feelings resurface and they eventually reconcile. However, Phil wants Louise, not Lisa, and when she realises, she is kicked out by Phil and Peggy Mitchell. They take over caring for Louise, excluding Lisa and hiring a nanny, Joanne Ryan telling her that Lisa is mentally unstable. This comes to a head on the day Peggy throws a party to celebrate changing Louise's name to Mitchell. Desperate to get away, Lisa and Louise go to Portugal, joining her best friend Mel Owen. When Phil finds a postcard with Mel's address, he goes after her; returning with Louise and tells his family that Lisa will not be back. The police are suspicious and send undercover officer, Kate Morton, trying to get Phil to confess to Lisa's murder. Kate gets a confession but it is not what she and her boss expect; he bullied Lisa to give him custody of Louise and told her to stay away so Louise would not be confused. Phil goes on to marry Kate, and is shocked when Lisa returns on their wedding day, wanting Louise back. Lisa plans to shoot Phil again, but Den Watts talks her out of it and looks after her. He and his son, Dennis Rickman frame Phil for armed robbery; when he is arrested, Lisa takes Louise and leaves Walford.

In 2007, Phil suggests to his son Ben Mitchell that they find Louise but Ben is not keen so Phil drops it but later in the year, Jack Branning tells Phil he knows where Louise is and helps him find her. Jack gives Phil a picture of Louise, showing him his beautiful blonde hair, blue eyed daughter and her address so Phil visits her on 4 January 2008 and tells her that he is her daddy, only to be disappointed when she points to another man and calls him daddy.

Louise returns on 16 March 2010 where she is dropped outside the tube station in a car where Phil's cousin, Ronnie Mitchell approaches her. Louise tells Ronnie she is looking for her dad and shows Ronnie a photo. Ronnie tells her that she knows him and will take her to see him. Louise tells Ronnie that her mother went on holiday but did not return. When Ronnie finds Phil, she sees him arguing with people in the pub and tells Louise that she could not find him. Wanting better for Louise, she calls Social Services, who take her into care. However, Phil finds out that Louise visited and angrily confronts Ronnie, just as Louise enters The Queen Vic. Louise spends the weekend with her father and he tries to keep her visit a secret. When the police arrive, he tells them he has not seen her. Phil allows her to stay off school, annoying Ben. After Phil speaks to Shirley Carter, he decides to contact Social Services, who take Louise away but Phil vows to fight for custody. However, he soon learns that he will need a DNA test to prove he is Louise's father as Mark is listed as Louise's father on her birth certificate. The results show that Phil is the father and a social worker, Terry, visits Phil's home and Phil and Louise are later reunited.

After Billie Jackson, and his gang hold up the bar, Terry decides it is not a safe environment for Louise but Shirley tells him that Phil is moving in with her so Louise moves in with Phil and Shirley, but her arrival upsets Ben, especially when she tells him she does not like Shirley. She causes further problems for Ben by stealing his diary and writing entries in it, then reading them to her friends. Phil forces Louise to apologise but she does not, and when Phil is out, Ben burns Louise's hand with a hot spoon. Louise sees Ben with alcohol that he took from the pub and tries to get Ben in trouble by asking Phil what alcohol tastes like. Later, Ben tells Louise that Phil will not believe her if she says anything but if she does, he will make her pay for it. Ben is asked to take Louise to school but locks her in a shed all day, making Phil think she has run away because he saw a note she wrote saying she wishes she was not there. Ben "finds" Louise and takes her home and she blames Jordan Johnson for locking her up. Ben tells her she is a good girl and will not lock her in the shed again. The next day, Phil sees burns on her arm and she blames Ben. A suspicious Phil questions Ben but he denies burning Louise and locking her in the shed. Phil asks Heather Trott to keep an eye on them but Ben sends Heather out for some crisps and a DVD. Worried, Phil rushes home and sees Louise's doll in pieces and Ben about to burn his sister. Ben claims he is playing a game but Phil angrily punches him. Ben is later imprisoned for attacking Jordan.

Phil learns that Lisa has applied for contact but he keeps this from her, asking Ritchie Scott to find a legal way of stopping Lisa seeing Louise. Louise asks Peggy when Lisa is returning from her holiday. Peggy reveals that she already has and that she wants to see Louise. Louise demands to see her mother, but Peggy insults her, so Louise storms off and then runs away. Phil eventually finds her and she tells him she wants to see her mother and needs to know if she still loves her but Phil shouts at Louise, telling her not to mention her mother again and she sees Phil slap Peggy when she says he is not fit to be a parent. Phil shuts Louise in the house, telling nobody to answer the phone or door but Peggy sneaks Louise out to apologise for insulting Lisa. Louise asks if she can see her mother so Peggy takes her there, where she slaps Lisa. Peggy is unable to assure Lisa that Phil will never harm Louise and leaves her with Lisa, providing Phil can visit regularly. When Peggy goes home, she tells Phil what she has done and he drives to Lisa's house and kicks down the door to find the house empty.

In January 2016, Phil visits Peggy to ask for Louise's address to give her some money. Eventually, Phil finds Louise, now 14 years old, at her school and gives her the money, but she is not interested in taking it or making amends with her father, until Phil suddenly collapses and loses consciousness. Louise arrives in Walford and meets Shirley again. After telling her about Phil, Shirley takes Louise to see the family and informs them that Phil collapsed at her school before being taken to the hospital due to his liver. Louise's stepmother, Sharon, refuses to believe Louise, having been told of it from Phil the previous night, and claims Louise is being paid by Phil to facilitate a lie. Louise denies taking the money and says she thinks that her family no longer cares about Phil's health until Shirley and Kathy Sullivan agree to visit Phil in the hospital. Later in the café, Louise is harsh towards Sharon about her attitude towards Phil, convincing Sharon to go to the hospital, where she learns that Phil has discharged himself from the hepatology ward, making Sharon realise that Louise was right. Lisa later calls Louise as she knows she is not in school, but Louise tells her not to call her if it happens again. Louise later notices Jay Brown and smiles at him, but leaves hastily after seeing Ben.

Louise goes to Phil's with her belongings, but Ben answers the door and sends her away. A drunken Phil starts destroying his businesses, using a digger to demolish the car lot. The residents realise someone is trapped and Jay believes it is his girlfriend, Linzi Bragg. However, Louise is found under the rubble and Phil breaks down, fearing he has killed her. Louise is hospitalised with broken ribs and concussion. On her return, she asks Phil to stay at home instead of sleeping in his garage, prompting him to accept help. She persuades him to go to his alcohol support group. Louise then uses Phil's credit card and spends over £2,000. Ben's girlfriend, Abi Branning catches her and tells her to return everything she has bought or they will tell Phil. Louise does so but then discovers that Abi has lied to Ben about being pregnant and tells Abi to move away with Ben or she will reveal the truth to Ben. However, Abi says that Ben would never believe her. Abi later catches Louise and Ben arguing over the credit card but Abi assumes it is about the pregnancy lie, so Abi inadvertently reveals it to Ben, saying Louise was blackmailing her. Ben, angry with both Louise and Abi, gets drunk in the Queen Vic, shoves Louise's head down and toilet and strips Abi to her bra, drags her out in front of everyone in the pub and announces that Abi lied about being pregnant and faking a miscarriage.

Jay attempts to resolve the argument and after he stops Phil from drinking, Louise thanks him and tries to kiss him. Jay rejects her because she is underage and he has a girlfriend, Linzi. On Louise's first day at school, she gets into a fight and when Jay collects her, he is shocked that Linzi is the one who Louise has been fighting with. During Louise's suspension, she attempts to steal a bottle of wine and when Denise Fox believes Phil is not going to punish her, she phones the police. Louise posts poo in a bag through Denise's door and she confronts Louise and Phil in The Vic. Linzi's mother, Thelma Bragg, tells everyone in The Vic about Jay's relationship with her underage daughter. Louise comforts Jay and Phil demands to know from Jay and Louise whether Jay has touched Louise, but Louise does not answer and Jay admits to her attempting to kiss him. Jay is arrested and Louise is interviewed by the police.

After Bex Fowler told her mother Sonia that she has had sex, Sharon, Honey Mitchell and Sonia talk to Louise & Bex about the pressures and consequences of sex. Bex develops a crush on Shakil Kazemi and Louise makes Bex jealous by flirting with him. At Martin Fowler and Stacey Fowler's wedding reception, a jealous Louise witnesses Bex and Shakil kiss. Louise then tells Bex to "treat him mean to keep him keen", which leaves Shakil confused when Bex turns down his offer of a drink. However, Louise's plans fail when Shakil decides to start a relationship with Bex.

Following a night out with Paul Coker, Ben's family are told he is dead, but it turns out to be Paul. Louise helps Phil out by working at The Arches, but she gets Jay to help her, however, Phil demands that Louise and Billy sack him. After Bex decides not to have sex with Shakil, Bex discusses it with Louise, who tells her that Shakil will not wait long. After Shakil and Bex have sex, Shakil sees Bex and Louise talking and assumes Bex is telling Louise about it, leading to a breakup between Shakil and Bex. After Bex watches Shakil and Louise kiss as part of the Christmas play, Bex is upset.

Louise fears Ben is going to do something stupid to Paul's killers, so she asks Paul's grandfather Les Coker to speak to Ben and she is relieved when Ben agrees to drop things. However, Ben goes back on his word when Jay locates Paul's killers. Louise reports them to the police and they return to Walford but Paul's killers break into the house and kidnaps both Ben and Jay. Louise and her cousin Courtney Mitchell hide in one of the bedrooms, with Courtney calling her father Grant Mitchell for help during the struggle. Louise and Courtney find Phil injured in the cupboard.

Louise thinks Phil is drinking again when he appears to be drunk. She searches for alcohol in the house and calls Shirley for help and Louise tells Shirley that Ben has offered to be a liver donor. Louise and Shirley find Phil on the floor in pain and Louise blames herself. Phil is diagnosed with an infection and Louise is angry with Sharon for thinking he was drinking. Sharon finds Phil making a will with Ritchie and she is furious he has left everything to Louise and he amends the will to include Sharon and her son Denny.

Louise skips school to join Phil and Sharon at Phil's hospital appointment and Louise and Sharon are devastated to learn that Phil may only have 12 months to live, despite being eligible for a transplant. Louise starts to call Sharon "Mum" and when Louise gets upset Sharon later comforts her and they agree to be positive. Louise suggests that Phil gives Ronnie away at her wedding to Jack and Phil tells his family he is not going through with the transplant. Louise is delighted when Phil changes his mind about the transplant, having been overheard comforting Dennis about his fears of phil dying. Jay has a visit from his police public protection officer and he tells Jay he will have to move out as Louise is underage. Phil refuses to make Jay leave, despite being told that Louise could be taken into care. Derek Evans meets with Sharon and tells her if Jay does not move out, they will have to move Louise as her needs come first.

Louise attends a drama club and takes a liking to Travis Law-Hughes. Louise is thrilled when Travis asks her on a date, but when he does not turn up, Keegan Baker reveals he was pretending to be Travis and he teases Louise with things she said in the messages. However he is only doing this because he likes Louise.

Louise, Bex, Shakil and Keegan are involved in a bus crash and are trapped at the top of the bus. Shakil helps Louise to overcome her fears and later she tells Bex that he saved her life. She is then teased over a video posted online by Keegan of the bus crash. Louise's friends Alexandra D'Costa and Madison Drake convince her that Shakil is to blame and encourage her to get revenge. Louise sends Shakil's naked photo to them from Bex's phone, leaving Bex distressed when she finds out and that the photo has been sent to another person. Louise tells Bex not to tell Shakil who sent his photo and Louise chooses to spend time with Madison and Alexandra instead of Bex. Bex receives an anonymous Valentine's card and believes Shakil sent it, however, realises that Madison and Alexandra sent it as a joke so confronts Louise who tells her to get over it. Shakil tells Louise that Bex was with Travis, so Louise confronts Bex but she says they are just friends; Bex and Louise make up.

When Keegan makes a porn video with Bex's face imposed on the model's body in revenge for Shakil's naked photo being distributed and sends it around school, the police get involved and discover the photo of Shakil, for which Bex takes the blame. After Bex is told she will be interviewed under caution, she tells Louise she will admit the truth, but Louise confesses that Madison and Alexandra were responsible for sending the image on and she should think about bringing them into it. Bex tells Louise, Madison and Alexandra she took the blame, but they are in the wrong. Madison and Alexandra overhear Bex insult them when she confronts Louise over their friendship. In the toilets, Madison and Alexandra push Bex, tear her shirt and write on her face whilst Louise stands outside, too scared to help Bex. Bex admits to teachers Robyn Lund and Gethyn Price that Louise, Madison and Alexandra were responsible for her attack and sending the photo but the girls deny any involvement whatsoever. After Louise reluctantly does so, Bex calls her out on her cowardice and ends their friendship.

Louise confronts Denny over him fighting with Michelle Fowler and he reveals that Michelle and Preston Cooper are having an affair. Bex does not believe Louise when she tells her, accusing Madison and Alexandra of putting her up to it, but soon sees that it is true. Louise tries to stop Madison and Alexandra from destroying Bex's guitar but she is unable to, and later, Madison tricks Bex into eating mud wrapped in chocolate, which is filmed by Alexandra and Louise. Sonia returns to Walford after Bex tells her about the bullying and Sonia confronts Louise and Sharon. Sharon tells Louise that unlike Bex, Madison and Alexandra are not true friends. Louise discovers that when Sonia went to the school, Bex asked her not to mention Louise's name, so realises she needs to apologise, but Bex rejects this. Sharon and Michelle bring Louise and Bex to the allotments for them to talk about what has happened and Louise agrees to stop being friends with Madison and Alexandra. When Bex and Louise bump into Madison and Alexandra, Bex is annoyed when Louise says she is not friends with her. Madison and Alexandra hide Louise's school books, causing her to get detention and miss a drama class. Louise flirts with Travis and Madison and Alexandra tell Louise she could have a chance at going out with Travis, but they laugh at Louise's crush when she leaves the room.

Sharon and Michelle return home drunk, which angers Louise due to Phil's alcoholism, and Louise tells Madison and Alexandra about it, so they decide to use it against her. They suggest to Louise they have a girls' night for the three of them at her home, which Sharon agrees to. Madison and Alexandra invite Travis to the party, which Bex overhears and tries to warn Louise that Madison and Alexandra cannot be trusted, but Louise accuses Bex of being jealous that she has friends. Madison and Alexandra arrive at Louise's with hidden vodka and people later start arriving, including Keegan and Travis and Louise frets about alcohol in the house, but Madison and Alexandra reassure Louise that they will make non-alcoholic drinks for the three of them. Louise unknowingly has drinks that Madison and Alexandra spiked, resulting in Louise getting drunk and being sick, which is filmed by Keegan, while Alexandra and Madison take selfies with her. As Louise staggers outside, she collapses after bringing up blood, panicking Bex, Madison, Alexandra, Keegan and Dennis. Louise is taken to hospital with paralysis and Sharon tells Louise about Bex finding her. When Louise is sent home, she invites Bex round, but Madison and Alexandra turn up so Bex leaves. They tell Louise that Keegan filmed what happened and was going to post it online but they convinced him not to, and they deny knowing anything about how Louise got drunk. Louise apologises to Bex and thanks her for helping, but Bex says one apology will not fix things. Madison and Alexandra then tell Louise, Sharon and Ben that Travis was responsible for spiking her drink. Louise believes Travis could have been framed, but Madison and Alexandra convince her that he is lying and Bex tries to get Louise to see that Travis is telling the truth. After speaking to Dennis about the party on Travis's behalf, Bex tells Louise that Alexandra followed Travis into the kitchen and Alexandra interrupts them. Alexandra gets herself out of trouble by telling Louise and Bex that Travis may not have been responsible for spiking her drink and Louise insists that Madison and Alexandra are still her friends.

Louise starts dating Travis. Sharon wants to meet Travis, inviting him for dinner, but Louise calls it off when Madison and Alexandra tell her that he is only interested in sex, and when Travis kisses her, she runs away. Keegan, Madison and Alexandra tell Louise that she had sex with Keegan at the party while she was drunk. Bex persuades Louise to do a pregnancy test, but Bex's father, Martin Fowler, catches Bex purchasing the test for Louise and wrongly assumes it is for herself. Martin buys a test when they admit Louise needs it and the result is negative. Madison and Alexandra then tell Louise that Keegan has chlamydia, so she panics. Bex accompanies Louise to the clinic, where she gets tested for sexually transmitted diseases and the nurse reassures Louise that despite only being fifteen, it's confidential and the nurse asks Louise if she wanted to have sex. Louise is upset when she finds out Keegan is the son of a new neighbour Karen Taylor.

Louise is heartbroken when Travis dumps her, believing the rumours about her and Keegan. Bex and Louise sit on a bench and Sharon walkes over to tell them off for skipping school. Sharon notices how upset Louise is and asks Bex why. Bex tells Louise she has to tell Sharon but Louise refuses and tells Sharon that Travis dumped her. Bex then tells Sharon that isn't the reason Louise is upset. Sharon tries to comfort Louise and get her to stop crying and tells her they will get through it whatever it is. Louise tearfully confides in Sharon about her fears that she has been raped and the police take a statement from Louise. Sharon confronts Keegan's mother, Karen about what Keegan has said and Karen punches Sharon. Louise has to undergo a physical examination and Keegan (despite saying he made the rumour up because he likes Louise) is arrested on suspicion of rape. The investigation is dropped due to the lack of evidence and Sharon decides to get answers from Keegan for Louise. Keegan tells Louise and Sharon that Denny told him about Louise's birthmark and Keegan apologises.

Louise decides she wants to change schools and Sharon is furious that she spoke to Phil. Travis wants to take Louise to prom and apologises to Louise about the incident with Keegan. Despite being grounded, Louise goes to see Bex at the showcase and Louise takes on the role of Juliet while Madison and Alexandra bully Bex. Shakil hears the bullying through headphones and exposes it through the soundboard. Louise is approached by a modelling scout and she & Bex make friends. Louise is excited when Travis asks her to prom. Louise discovers another girl at school has the same dress, so she and Bex swap it for another at Kush Kazemi's stall. At prom, Louise and Travis win most beautiful couple and Travis arranges an area behind the stage with candles for them. Alexandra and Madison turn up and Louise berates them for their actions. Alexandra pushes Louise onto lit candles which sets off the fire alarms and sprinklers. Louise is in agony as Mr Pryce and other students help Louise by cooling the burns with water. Keegan is sickened by Madison and Alexandra and drags them onto the stage, where Alexandra denies it being their fault. The police arrive to get statements and Louise is taken to the hospital. Sharon arrives at the hospital after she is contacted by the school and Bex tells her what happened. Madison and Alexandra are both arrested for their actions and expelled from school.

Sharon, Bex and Sonia are told that Louise has third degree skin burns & requires skin grafts. Lisa shows up at the hospital and Louise orders her out, choosing Sharon to remain whilst she is given pain relief. Lisa and Sharon argue over Phil being away in Italy and leaving Louise and Sharon tells Lisa how Louise gained her injuries. Lisa insists on caring for Louise instead of Sharon. Lisa tells Sharon that Louise wanted to live with Phil when she got a new boyfriend, which she admits was a relief. She is furious that Sharon went to Italy with Phil and Louise was left in the care of Michelle, who she never has met. Sharon gives Lisa the choice of being there or not for Louise and she opts to remain. Louise argues with Lisa over feeling abandoned and getting the blame, but opens up to Lisa, admitting she is scared. Lisa meets Ben and Lisa criticises Ben's past behaviour towards Louise. Lisa apologises to Ben and they make amends as Phil turns up, who is unimpressed with Lisa's presence and Lisa, Sharon and Louise ask Phil to give Lisa a chance. Lisa apologises to Phil for the past mistakes regarding Louise and says that they both need to be there for her, but Phil physically throws Lisa out of the hospital, ordering her to stay away from Louise. Lisa stays with Louise at the hospital and Lisa stands up to Phil, telling him she is not going and Phil allows Lisa to visit Louise. Phil warns Lisa not to mess up.

Bex goes to see Louise, but Lisa says Louise has requested no visitors and Lisa tells Bex her plans for Louise if she was well. Louise is distressed when Lisa and Bex arrange for Travis to visit her and Travis gives Louise a promise ring. Lisa talks to herself as she watches Louise with Phil, Sharon and Bex. The doctor gives Lisa consent to take Louise outside and Lisa tells Louise that she has been discharged. Lisa plans to take Louise, going to Liverpool Street station. Phil and Sharon find Louise's room empty and the doctor reassures them of Lisa and Louise's whereabouts, although they find Louise's belongings gone. Phil is angry as the doctor explains how Louise is at a crucial stage in her recovery and the police tell Phil and Sharon what they are doing. Phil and Sharon are told Lisa switched cabs and find Lisa's flat, which is empty. Louise wakes up and Lisa lies to her that she and Phil agreed for her to be away from the square while Phil and Sharon question Lisa's capabilities. The police, Phil and Sharon discuss Lisa being traced through her cash withdrawals in Castle Point and that she has a mental health team. Louise is in agony without her medication and Lisa prevents Louise from using the phone by cutting the cord. Louise figures out Lisa is off her medication. Louise's phone dies as she tries to phone the police and Lisa prevents her from leaving, but when Lisa allows her to go, Louise chooses to stay with and comfort Lisa when she is distressed. Bex gives Phil and Sharon information on a hotel where Lisa and Louise are at and compared to Sharon, Phil shows a lack of regard to Lisa's mental health. Phil finds Louise and she wants him to leave. Phil gains entry to their room and Lisa hits Phil over the head with a phone. Phil shouts at a struggling Lisa as Louise deteriorates and Lisa and Louise go to hospital together. Louise is discharged and refuses to believe Sharon telling her that Travis will dump her because of her scars. Louise asks Phil if she could have inherited Lisa's condition and Phil admits his part in causing Lisa's illness. Louise confides in Phil about her guilt of leaving Lisa when she was ill and she rubbishes Phil's belief he is a bad father.

On Halloween, Louise and Bex are forced to include Keegan's half-sister, Bernadette Taylor in their plans. Keegan freaks Louise out by using a scar covered mask and Travis' protectiveness overwhelms her. Louise decides to end her relationship with Travis and she asks Bex not to chase after Gethin. Louise asks Bex for her opinion on what her scars are like and Bex convinces Louise to look at her scars. Louise finds out from Bex that Gethin told Sonia about the kiss, the reason for Gethin's sudden departure and she accidentally lets slip to Shakil about Bex & Gethin. Bex is heartbroken when she sees Shakil and Louise kiss; though accidental, Louise is stunned and disgusted by Shakil's immature reaction.

Louise is delighted when Mel returns to Walford and sneaks her into her house, where Mel searches for money that has gone missing from a recent illegal job that involved Phil. She is thrilled when she is reunited with Mel's son, Hunter Owen, whome she grew up with. Hunter leaps up from his chair and they embrace, calling her "maggot-brains" and Louise answering "the one and only." She is surprised, exclaiming that he doesn't look like his profile picture and he tells her that is because the photo is old and he grew up. Louise takes Hunter on a tour of Walford. They enter the cafe and Hunter explains that it isn't "how he pictured it". They sit down and order teas. Louise asks Hunter what his dad was like, he explains that he was an "old-school gent, and a looker an' all" and that he was a "sharp dresser." He goes on to say that his mum told him his dad was a "decent" man. Louise responds by saying she wished her father could be more like his. She asks if Hunter know how Steve died, in which Hunter says it was a heart-attack in his club. Louise apologises for his loss.

Later that evening, Ciara is enraged at finding out she doesn't have the full amount of money so marches down to find Mel and Hunter at the club. She, in retaliation, tells Hunter the truth about Steve's death, explaining that Mel has lied to him. She explains that his father wasn't the square's favourite man where "everyone dressed in their Sunday best" for his funeral. As she begins to explain Mel and Sharon come to both Hunter and Louise's defence telling them not to believe her and to go home. Louise refuses and Hunter demands to know the truth from Mel. Mel threatens Ciara, who laughs it off not believing she'll do anything to her. Ciara tells Hunter that his dad was "scum, a vicious thug", which Mel rebuffs in order to protect Hunter. Ciara tells Mel to be honest and Hunter asks Mel why Ciara would be saying this. Ciara then accuses Mel of not loving Steve and tells Hunter "Steve Owen was burnt alive in a car" and that he was trying to steal a baby at the time. Mel goes to hit Ciara but is stopped by her bodyguard. Ciara tells Mel that she is just "laying out the facts". Louise goes to Hunter to try to drag him away and Mel says that Ciara is lying. Ciara rebuffs this by telling Hunter that if he doesn't believe her, ask Sharon. Sharon stands her ground saying that "this has nothing to do with me", but Ciara tells her that she'll pay for ripping her off. Sharon tells her to "sing for it". Ciara tries defending her actions to Hunter, telling him that she wouldn't just tell him this to hurt him. Mel tells Hunter they need to leave, but he refuses. She tries to make Ciara look bad and that she is lying because of the money. Ciara denies this and then tells Hunter about Saskia Duncan - she was an old friend of Steve's and he killed her. He looks to Mel but she hangs her head in shame. Ciara then tells Hunter that he shouldn't be too hard on his mum because "what mother in their right mind would want their son to know their father was a murderer?"

Hunter and Mel go home and she explains to him the truth about what happened to Steve. He searches on his phone to look for facts about his father. Mel begins to explain that Saskia was an ex-girlfriend of Steve's who he got pregnant. She had an abortion, regretted it and attacked Steve over it. Steve fought back and ended up killing Saskia in self-defence. Hunter finds an article which says that "Matthew Rose, aged 18, was convicted of her manslaughter" and questions Mel over it. Mel explains that Steve framed him. He then finds an article on his dad's death which says that he died of "misadventure". He questions this and Mel tells him that there was a car chase, but she doesn't remember who was chasing him. He accuses her of lying again, but she denies it. He goes on to read that "a baby was rescued from the car" and asks who the baby was. Mel explains that it was Louise, and she would've only been about 18 months old at the time. He asks whether Louise knows about this to which Mel shakes her head. He asks why Louise was in the car, but she tells him that she'll tell him only when they are back in Portugal. He tells her that there is only one problem - he's not going back to Portugal, she can go be he won't. Mel later compares Hunter to Steve and asks for them to start again.

Later that week, after Hunter flirts with Louise, Keegan becomes jealous as he likes Louise a lot and he begins to look at pictures of Louise on her Facebook account. Louise invites Hunter to a lunch at her family's home which he accepts. Mel finds out and is against it, barging into the Mitchell home. Sharon and Phil invite her to stay and eat, which she accepts. Mel begins making jibes at a drunk Sharon, who responds by commenting on Mel's marriage to Ian Beale. Phil tells Sharon that that is enough, but she ignores him and goes on to go through Mel's failed relationships - like Billy. Mel says that she gets it, her and Hunter aren't welcome, and they get up to leave. Phil and Louise tell them not to, but Hunter says that he doesn't want to stick around to listen to Sharon. Phil tells Hunter to "sit down son", which Sharon questions - "son?". Mel turns to look at Phil, causing him to ask Sharon if she is alright, but she says she's fine - it's just a funny thing to call him. Billy and Honey Mitchell attempt to leave, but Sharon continues to ramble. She says that Hunter isn't Phil's son, "is he?", implying that Phil may be Hunter's father. Mel tells Hunter they are leaving, which he doesn't disagree with. Sharon then goes on to say that it's a strange thing to say, especially when Phil killed his father, Steve. Hunter storms out, with Phil trying to calm down the situation by calling after him, explaining that Sharon is drunk and she doesn't know what she's saying. Hunter gets upset and demands to know if what Sharon said is true, but Sharon and Phil argue that she didn't know what she was saying. Mel tries to drag Hunter out, but he pushes her away. He turns back to Phil and asks if it is true to which Phil says "it weren't like that." Mel tells him to shut up to which Hunter leaves, followed by Louise. Mel thanks Sharon, going on to explain that after 15 years she thought things would've changed. Sharon apologises, Mel rebuffs this saying that it's cheeky that Sharon would "have a pop" at her for "fluttering her eyelashes" when Sharon would go home with anyone who would by her a bag of crisps "back then." She then tells Sharon that she is the same as she always was - "a drunken, mouthy tart." Sharon then grabs a jug of cream and aims to pour it over Mel, but Mel grabs it and pushes her backwards, covering Sharon in cream. She then wishes Sharon a "happy Easter" before storming out. After Sharon has cleaned up, Phil applauds her. She yells at him to stop but he doesn't. Phil then puts the bins out, unaware that Hunter is watching him.

Louise and Hunter go to the E20 and Hunter makes Louise a coctail but they hide when Billy Mitchell and Jack Branning enter the room. Hunter then puts his hand up Louise's skirt but she stops him as she is not very confident about her scars. Later that day, Louise meets Hunter in E20 and he makes he feel confident again and tells Louise that "she doesn't know how beautiful she is". He then kisses her and Louise kisses him back, which leads to them loosing their verginity. Hunter uses the situation to his advantage and tells Phil to put security cameras in the club for protection and have them feed to his phone. Phil agrees to put security cameras in the club. On the night of the club opening, Hunter leads Louise into the office, they kiss and they have sex. Unaware to Louise, Hunter is making faces to the camera, as he knows Phil is watching. Afterwards, Louise notices the camera in the Mitchell home, Phil is watching on CCTV how the night is going; he notices Hunter leading Louise into the office and watches as they begin to strip and have sex. An angry Phil then grabs a baseball bat and marches down to the club to kill Hunter. He bursts in and shouts to Mel to tell her where Hunter is, unaware that he is hiding under the bar next to his mum. Mel denies all knowledge and says she's going to call the police, but Phil answers this by saying "they won't get here in time." Mel and Sharon follow Phil into the office and he explains that Hunter has raped Louise and it was captured on CCTV. Mel and Sharon are shocked at this and Mel leaves to find the teens. Phil shows Sharon the beginnings of the tape, where Hunter was making faces into the camera, and brands Hunter as "sick" as he meant for Phil to see it. Sharon tries to calm Phil down by telling him that Hunter probably didn't even know the camera was on. She tells Phil to delete the tape as Louise is 16 but Hunter is still 15 - meaning it is statutory rape in the eyes of the law. Mel texts Sharon to come outside as she has found Hunter and Louise. Hunter and Louise confirm that the sex was consensual, but Louise cries and says "the only thing I don't consent to is you all knowing my business." Hunter assures her that it is probably a misunderstanding. Mel asks Sharon how they can stop this from turning into a decade-long feud; Hunter asks if he has another decade in him. Sharon tells Mel that she'll take Hunter and Louise home, leaving Mel to try and calm Phil down. Mel tells Sharon "it isn't like you to leave me alone with Phil." Sharon answers her, smiling, by saying "you ain't no threat darling." Back in the office, Phil downloads the tapes onto his laptop. Mel comes in and Phil asks her where Hunter is. She explains that Hunter is at home and she has spoken to Louise; she likes Hunter and wasn't forced. Phil stands and tells Mel that if Hunter wants a war, he'll give him one. Mel stops him from leaving. Outside, Hunter asks Sharon if he can come over; Louise tells Sharon that "we weren't doing anything that you didn't do at our age." Sharon is offended by this comment and tells Louise to go inside. Louise kisses Hunter and leaves. Sharon confronts Hunter over the faces he was making to the camera, he lies and explains "I didn't know he was watching. I was just messing around." Sharon asks him how he think Louise would feel if she knew he was making faces at the camera; he says "she wouldn't like it." Sharon agrees and explains "what she gave you is so special." He says he knows, but Sharon questions if he really does. She tells him that she likes him, but "if I get a sniff of you disrespecting Louise again, I won't hold Phil back." Hunter says he understands. Sharon leaves. Back in the office, Mel calms Phil down and seduces him leading to them kissing. She then tells him to leave Hunter alone or she'll tell Sharon. Phil laughs it off, but Mel points to the security camera saying that she'll show Sharon. At this point Sharon and Jack arrive outside the club and see Hunter; they ask what he is still doing out, he explains that he was worried about Mel - "she's been in there ages." Sharon and Jack walk into the club and check if everything is alright - Mel confirms it is.

Phil bans Louise from leaving the house and keeps her under his and Sharon’s surveillance. Louise tries to leave but Phil stops her. Sharon tries to comfort Louise by telling her that her father was the same, but Louise storms off after telling Sharon to shut up as “that was 100 years ago.” Sharon tries to cheer Louise up by making her a hot chocolate. Louise asks her what she’s trying to do; Sharon tells her that what she did with Hunter was alright. Louise says that it’s her business, Sharon disagrees and tells her that “it’s a big moment in anyone’s life” and explains she doesn’t understand why Louise is acting like it hasn’t affected her. She asks her if she has any regrets, to which Louise answers by walking out and leaving the hot chocolate. Louise texts Hunter telling him to “save her”. Hunter arrives at the Mitchell house and is greeted by an overjoyed Louise, who literally squeaks in joy at the sight of him. They embrace, but are stopped by Sharon. Hunter explains to Sharon that he isn’t staying, but he wants to apologise to her and Phil. Sharon tells Hunter that Phil isn’t home and that he is at the club. Hunter asks Sharon to pass on the message to Phil; Sharon says she can do better than that, and explains she’ll take both of them over the club to apologise as “this is getting stupid now.” Hunter, Louise and Sharon walk in on Mel and Phil talking about their past relationship. Mel tells Phil to explain that it was a long time ago – which Sharon agrees with. He stays silent for a moment and says that he can hardly remember. Louise asks how he can forget that, but Sharon says “if anyone can your dad can, he’s a master at it.” Mel explains to Hunter that because of that fact, they aren’t happy they are together. Phil says that they aren’t together, to be stopped by Louise. However, he ignores her and says that she isn’t even meant to be there. Sharon explains that they came to see him to apologise; Mel says that that is very “grown up” of them. Hunter walks up to Phil and tries to shake hands with Phil, but he grabs him by the throat and holds him up against a shelf. Mel rushes to her son’s aid, whilst Louise and Sharon yell for him to get off of Hunter. Louise, Sharon and Phil leave whilst Mel hugs Hunter. Phil threatens Mel outside the club to tell Hunter to keep away from Louise. She says they have nothing to lose now. Phil tells her that if she wants to play games she’ll have to go “all the way.”

Louise plays music very loudly annoying Phil and Sharon; Sharon explains to Phil that she’s doing it to just make a point. Louise comes down stairs into the kitchen and is asked by Phil if she’s going to turn it down. She ignores him and takes an apple, then puts it back when Phil tells her that that isn’t breakfast. He repeats the question but she says “what? I can’t hear you.” He smiles and tells her “you aren’t helping your cause.” Louise asks what cause and he says “you heard that then.” Sharon tells him to grow up because he’s the adult. Phil tells Louise that she isn’t seeing Hunter, but she tells him that that isn’t up to him. He explains that it is. Louise says that she’ll see who she likes, which Phil rebuffs saying “no, you’ll see who I like and that ain’t anyone.” Louise yells that that isn’t fair, but he shoots this down by saying that they’ll talk about this again when she’s a grown up. Louise turns to Sharon, who in turn asks Phil “what next? Lock her up?” but he says “I’ve done worse.” Louise tells him that she’s going to continue to still see Hunter, this causes Phil to say that she isn’t and to turn the music down. Later, Louise comes back downstairs and finds the house empty. She rings Hunter and asks to see him, she tells him they have to see each other somewhere where no one can see them. She then tells him she’s home but tells him that he can’t come round and tells him to think of somewhere else to meet, quickly. At this point Phil opens the door and she disconnects the call to Hunter. Phil offers her chips and she gets plates out. He begins to apologise for earlier but she tells him that it’s forgotten about. Phil says that he’s just doing it because he cares about her. Louise then gets a message from Hunter telling her to meet him by the swings in 10 minutes.

Michelle goes to Mel’s to ask if she still wants her to tutor Hunter, Mel says she hasn’t really given it much thought. Michelle then says that Phil told her not to do the job which causes Mel to reconsider. Mel introduced Michelle and Hunter to each other. Michelle later comes to tutor Hunter but catches him and Louise having sex on the sofa. She then tells Hunter she can no longer tutor him, and she doesn’t think it would be appropriate. She then tells them she’ll keep quiet about the situation. Later on, Mel confronts Hunter over why Michelle doesn’t want to tutor him anymore, he lies and says that she tried to kiss him. Mel angrily storms round to the Mitchell home and threatens Michelle after shoving her head in the sink. Sharon confronts Michelle and hints that she believes Hunter’s claims causing Michelle to leave and stay the night at Dot’s. The next day Michelle confronts Louise and tells her to fix it. Louise goes round to see Hunter and gets him to make up a different lie to Mel. Mel goes back round to the Mitchell home with Hunter where Louise reveals that Michelle caught them having sex and thought it wouldn’t be appropriate to teach Hunter anymore. Louise is told off by Sharon and Mel leads Hunter out. Louise calls Bernadette Taylor a “stupid tramp” which upsets her and her best friend, Tiffany Butcher. This causes Tiffany to break into the Mitchell home and take a picture of Louise and Hunter kissing passionately. She puts it on Instagram, labelling it ‘a Munter on the Loo’. Louise sees the image and confronts Tiffany. This catches the attention of Sharon and Whitney who then get into an argument over the situation.

In May 2018, Shakil dies after getting stabbed and the teens are left devastated - especially Keegan who was also stabbed but survived. Flowers and cards are placed on a bench near where Shakil was found in memory of him were Keegan, Bex, Louise, Tiffany, Bernadette and Hunter gather round and remember Shakil. Keegan becomes upset but Bernadette tells him it wasn't his fault. Keegan tells the group that Shakil wouldn't have wanted flowers or cards - he would have wanted a good party. Hunter tells them he has spare keys to E20 which his mum runs and teens get drunk and play truth or dare. They spin a bottle and it lands Tiffany kissing Bernadette. Tiffany tells the group that she ain't

Kissing Bernadette but Hunter dares her to do it - so Tiffany kisses Bernadette, leaving everyone gobsmacked and she replies "hashtag, never dare a Butcher". Keegan then grabs the bottle and spins it around hoping it will land on him so he can kiss Tiffany. It lands on Keegan and he leans in to kiss her, the pair snog and smile at each other but Bernadette doesn't like the thought of her best friend and her brother kissing. Louise also appears to be jealous even though she is going out with Hunter. After that, everyone makes a toast to Shakil. The next morning, Tiffany thinks that she is ill but Bernadette replies "its called a hangover". The next day, Hunter tells Louise, Bex and Tiffany that there was money robbed from the nightclub and Keegan's phone was on the floor so he thinks it's him, however, Louise tells Hunter that Keegan was with her last night as she was being sick. Tiffany sarcastically replies "Keegan watched you being sick". Louise confides in Bex that she kissed Keegan when she was drunk.

Christmas 2018 Louise sleeps with Keanu and apparently falls pregnant within the next few months. In a later episode, she claims to have had an abortion after visiting an abortion clinic with Sharon but later reveals to Lola that she didn't go through with it.
