The Launderette, formerly Bridge Street Launderette is where the families go to wash their clothes as they don't have washing machines at home. In Episode 14 (4th April 1985) Pauline Fowler is heard saying the Launderette's telephone number "503 8026". Dot also says this number in Episode 532 (13 March 1990) when she's waiting for a call back about her bingo win. Being in London the full number up until May 1990 would have been "01 503 8026".
The Launderette contains 6 Washing Machines, 2 Tumble Dryers and 1 Spin Dryer.
The cost of washing your clothes in Launderette in 2010 was £9. The current owner of the Laundrette as of 2016 is Apostulous Papadopolous.
Smoking has been banned in the Launderette since 2007. Dot was given her notice 12 December 2016 and the launderette will close Christmas Eve 2016. The Launderette reopened in 2018, with Karen Taylor being the first new employee.
