Katy Lewis is the mother of Frankie Carter and Harry Lewis. She made her first appearance on 6 November 2020 and last on 21 May 2021. She was portrayed by Simone Lahbib.

Backstory[]

Katy was Tina Carter and Mick Carter's care worker when they were in care.

It has been confirmed that Mick was sexually abused by Katy when he was just 12 years old, which resulted in Katy getting pregnant, and the birth of her daughter Frankie.

Katie also got pregnant again after sexually abusing a child named Jed when he was 13. Katy then gave birth to Harry. Harry passed away from unknown causes at five years old. Katy claims that Clive, the care home manager, made a pass at her - sticking his tongue down her throat. She slapped him and ran out of the door.

Storylines[]

2020-2021: Arrival, history of paedophilia and exit[]

When Katy arrives in Walford, she is introduced as the mother of Frankie. It is revealed that she used to work in a children's home, where Mick was a resident. Frankie points out to Mick that he was sexually abused when at the home. When Mick starts having flashbacks, Katy convinces him that the events that happened are not how he remembers them. Katy recalls Mick staying over once or twice and one night she remember him crying maybe about football. She tells him he use to cry a lot as the other boys could be vicious. Katy said he had a television in her room and Mick though that it was really cool to watch TV in bed. Katy said Mick could go up there for a treat. She came up later with a cup of cocoa and he had fallen asleep. So she help him get undress, tucked him in and then went downstairs to sleep on the sofa. She regrets doing it but back then there were not so many rules, such as safeguard and she was naïve.

When Linda Carter has an affair, she convinces him that the marriage is not worth saving. When Mick contemplates suicide, during a phone call to The Samaritans, he realises that she did abuse him and rape him when he was 12 years old. Later, Linda meets Jed, who Frankie introduces as Harry's half-brother. Linda has a gut feeling that Jed isn't who he says he is and presses him with questions. Jed runs off, angry at the implication that he could be Harry's father and Linda apologises to Frankie saying she must have got it wrong. Jed returns and reveals he is in fact Harry's father and he was abused by Katy when he was a child. Jed also reveals that there were other young boys who were abused. Linda tells Mick that he wasn't the only one and Mick decides to go to the police. After spotting the police on her door Katy flees and goes to Mick's house, she admits she did sexually assault him and begs him to withdraw his statement for Frankie's sake, Mick and Katie don't realise Mick's mother Shirley was listening to the whole thing, Shirley then beats Katie up before calling the police. Katy stands trial after pleading guilty and in spite of Frankie's positive character statement, she is sentenced to ten years imprisonment and is placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely. Before she is taken down, she apologises to Mick.
