Jimmy Beale is the son of Lauren Branning and Peter Beale and the brother of Louie Beale. He made his first appearance on 7 May 2025.
Backstory
Lauren was involved in the crush at Peggy's and she was trampled on as people tried to escape the venue. This left Lauren with cracked ribs and lots of other injuries. After a couple of months, Lauren was still experiencing lots of pain despite having her painkillers. Her behaviour became erratic as she was having withdrawn effects from the painkillers and her GP didn't let her have any more due to her being an alcoholic. After speaking with Anna Knight, Lauren comes to the realisation that the sickness and irregular periods she was experiencing might not be to do with the crush injuries after all and that she could be pregnant again. She takes a test and this confirms that she is pregnant. Kathy Cotton catches Lauren taking the test and she announces her pregnancy to her.
Lauren tells her boyfriend, Peter whilst he is drunk and the next day he forgot all about it. Lauren gets annoyed and tells him again. After talking to Peter, Kathy persuades him to talk to Lauren and be there for her and the baby. Meanwhile, Lauren talks to her cousin, Penny Branning, and tells her everything and how she is getting an addiction toward the painkillers and that she is worried they have harmed the baby. They go for a scan and it is revealed that everything is fine and that the painkillers had no effect on the baby.
Storylines
2025-: Birth and being blind
His name is a tribute to his great-grandfather, Jim Branning. Shortly after birth, Jimmy is diagnosed with Optic Nerve and Chorioretinal coloboma, which means the back of his eyes have not properly formed, leaving him heavily sight impaired.
