Jessica Turner (born 1953 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire) is an English actress who portrayed Norma Unwin in EastEnders in November 2025.
Her career spans stage, television, and film. Raised in a family of actors, she was immersed in the dramatic arts from an early age. Her parents met while training at the Central School of Speech and Drama, and her father, Michael Turner, performed with Laurence Olivier's National Theatre Company at the Old Vic - a legacy that deeply influenced Jessica's own path.
Turner's theatrical journey is closely tied to the National Theatre, where she worked under three of its Artistic Directors: Peter Hall, Richard Eyre, and Trevor Nunn. One of her most memorable performances was as Vivie in Mrs. Warren's Profession opposite Joan Plowright, with Olivier himself attending the opening night - a symbolic moment that echoed her family's theatrical roots.
Beyond the stage, Jessica Turner has built an impressive portfolio in British television and film. Her screen credits include roles in The Ottoman Lieutenant (2017), Tess of the D'Urbervilles (2008), and Prime Suspect (1991). She has also appeared in popular series such as Midsomer Murders, Law & Order: UK, Doctors, Heartbeat, New Tricks, Father Brown, MI-5, and The Bill.
