Jasper, also referred to as Jasper Parrot, made his first appearance on 13 June 2023.
Backstory[]
Jasper is a parrot that was owned by Tom Cotton during his marriage to Jo Cotton, Tom left Jo and Jasper in October 1997 and assumed Jasper has died since.
Storylines[]
Tom is left surprised when Jo turns up on his doorstep, Tom takes Jo over to the car lot and Jo hands Tom the divorce papers. Jo then tells Tom that Jasper says hello, Tom later phones Jo and refers to Jasper as "my boy". Bobby later overhears another conversation between Tom and Jo where Tom once again calls Jasper "my boy", Bobby tells Kathy that he thinks Tom has a secret son and Kathy then accuses Tom of lying again. Tom then explains that Jasper was his parrot that he had while with Jo, Kathy later meets Jo and buys Jasper back for Tom. When Tom is reunited with Jasper he is delighted, Jasper calls Tom by his nickname "Rocky". The next day, Jasper annoys Kathy as he keeps repeating the words "Lovely Jo". Jasper causes mayhem between Kathy and Tom when bites out a piece of Kathy's dress for Lola's funeral, Tom promises Kathy he will make Jasper stop. Tom later teaches Jasper to say Kathy's name, Tom fixes Kathy's dress and Jasper apologises to her.
At some point after Tom's arrest for arson, Kathy gives Jasper to Reiss Colwell and Sonia Fowler as Jasper is mentioned by Reiss on 15 August 2024. On 15 January 2025, Reiss Colwell mentions he needs to go home as it is Jasper's feeding time. Before she leaves, Sonia asks Kathy to look after Jasper.
