She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and was the winner of the Michael Warre Award for Best Actress in 1988. In 1992 she played Theresa Kennedy in A Time to Dance and Sarah Preston in Peak Practice from 1993 to 1996. Afterwards, she landed the role of Lorraine in EastEnders and after a leaving took a break from acting to look after her sick mother.
When Jacqueline sprung back into the industry, she landed the regular role of Dr Caroline Powers in Doctors and remained in part from 2000 to 2001. Before playing Faye Blonde in Goldplated in 2006, she appeared in Nice Guy Eddie, 72 Faced Liar, The Bill, The Courtroom and Magnificent 7.
After Goldplated and appearing in the guest role of Valerie Holden in Hollyoaks she appeared Holby City as Gwen Baker. In 2015, she played Linda Hancock in Coronation Street. She is currently playing Lydia Murdoch in River City.
