New Road is a street in Walford which runs behind Albert Square.

History[]

The building appear to be commercial buildings including Joanna's Café, Marshall & Hammond and Dexter roger's & associates.

Background Information[]

  • Due to the Original EastEnders set being small, The shop fronts of New Road are built into the sides and backs of the buildings on Albert Square. This is best seen on Google Earth when in 3D View.
    • Due to the New EastEnders set being slightly smaller, the shop fronts weren’t built into the back of the new set.

Other uses[]

EastEnders  A-Z DVD (2005)[]

Before the current New Road was established showing shops, it was previously re-dressed to depict other streets. On the EastEnders  A-Z DVD (2005), the exact location is not given but in the last picture you can see the fence and phone box. The Bright blue door in the 4th picture must be part of the Joanna's Café on New Road. 

E20 (2010)[]

In E20 Series 2 its re-dressed as Graham Street where Naz lives, which is located outside Walford.
