Summary[]
Della and Steve reopen the hairdressers, and Carol decides she is going to treat herself with a haircut there. Alan is snappy with her but will not tell her why. Pat meets Pauline in the launderette to talk recent events through.

Pat is feeling optimistic following her day in Clacton. Ricky has an idea to rake in more money - rent his bedroom out to students. Pat disputes the idea, not wanting their house to turn back into a B&B. Sharon visits Ian with a cheque for £1,500, stating it is to pay off Pat's debts, but he refuses to take it so Sharon works her way around him and ultimately gets her own way. Della gets distracted with Steve whilst cutting Carol's hair and accidentally nips her ear, causing it to bleed, and she leaves disappointed, refusing to pay. Della and Steve then argue, leading him to walk out. Sharon hands Pat her account with Ian. Pat is speechless upon seeing it has been paid off; she agrees to pay Sharon back £5 a week until she has repaid her in full. Binnie shows up at the hairdressers and Della is thrilled to see her. Alan decides to tell Carol about his situation with the DSS. David returns to Number 41 to see Pat, and Ricky is not pleased to see him. Pat asks Ricky to leave and sits David down to talk. Della and Binnie make amends. David and Pat clear the air with one another. He wants to carry on living at Number 41 and has an idea to get the family up and running again. Della scraps plans for a night out with Steve to spend time with Binnie. Pat makes Ricky shake hands with David and afterwards, David takes them out to the charred car lot with a plan for a new business. He buys cheap cars, Ricky does them up and they sell them on. |
