David finds Pat stood at the car park and attempts to persuade her to return home; she pushes him away, convinced Frank will be around waiting for her. She then tells David that all the problems between her and Frank began once he showed up. David claims he is relieved Frank has gone and then confesses he did not go to the missing person's bureau, leaving her horrified by David's confession and storms off. He follows her, wanting her attention, but she is not interested. The pair begin to bicker and David gives Pat some harsh revelations. Steve tells Della he does not hate her but she should have told him about her sexuality. David blames Pat for all his problems in life. Della elaborates on her sexuality and how she initially tried to make herself heterosexual in light of her reality. Pat advises David he goes back to his other family and leaves her alone. David walks away as Ricky is reunited with her. Della tries phoning Binnie, but she will not talk to her; Steve reveals he spoke to her. She goes searching for her and leaves Steve on his own. David sits down to a pint in a café by himself and watches as Pat and Ricky obliviously pass him. Ricky learns that Frank cheated on June with Pat back when they first met, and feels like he was always having to prove himself to Frank so Pat reassures him that he was seen highly by his father. The pair then head to the pier and enjoy a few rides before the rain pours. David visits the beach and then takes a stroll down the promenade as he contemplates his future. Della returns after her search for Binnie, having had no luck. Steve allows her to stay at the Vic with him to help her feel better and show no hard feelings. David sits on rocks in the downpour as Pat and Ricky prepare to drive back to Walford. |
