Summary[]
Alan takes Robbie to the Vic to celebrate his return home. Tricky Dicky cannot help but wind up residents with his unnecessary remarks. David does not trust Diane or any of the Butchers, and is determined to discover the truth about Frank.
|
Steve kicks secret lovers Della and Binnie out of the Vic, sickened by their actions. David is introduced to Diane. Alan opts to buy more exotic fruits from the cash and carry with his own wages in a bid to take home extra money for the family, whilst covering Mark on the stall in his absence. Binnie upsets Della by inadvertently suggesting she was a prize that she won. Michelle plucks up the courage to phone Geoff, asking him to visit her. Kathy is delighted to see Diane again. David and Ricky look after Jacques whilst she is out. Tricky Dicky makes an interesting phone call. Diane heads over to the Arches after her catch-up with Kathy and tells Phil she knows that Frank set fire to the car lot for the insurance money. Phil feels guilty but insists there was no monetary incentive for him. Geoff visits Michelle and is pressed over the woman she caught him dancing with at the nightclub. He laughs her concerns off and informs her it was his daughter. Diane returns to Number 41 where David grills her over why she is back. He hooks onto the fact she is hiding something and demands to know what it is. Ricky attempts to defend Diane, but she stops him and admits that Frank caused the fire at the car lot, and any further conversation is cut short by Pat's return. Alan makes £117.28 on the stall altogether, but only £9.52 from the extra fruit he bought. Pat is in a better mood, having remembered that next week is her and Frank's five-year wedding anniversary. She voices her confidence that Frank will not have forgotten and will be in touch. |
