Ricky stays up late into the night listening to music and looking through photos of Frank, but he cannot find the photos of his mother. Pat is awoken by the music and heads downstairs to try and get Ricky to bed, but he argues with Pat, so she slaps him. He then decides to go searching for Frank, but Janine walks in on him before he can leave and demands to go with him, so she leaves a note in the bread bin for Pat before they head off to Chelmsford in search of the pub Frank was last seen in. Michelle and Geoff are delighted with how their romantic night has gone - he looks forward to meeting her family. Ricky and Janine arrive at the pub. He talks to the pub landlady, but she does not recognise Frank from the photograph she is shown. Jules and Nellie collect their pension money. She obliviously drops her money by the fruit and veg stall, and Jules buys fruit from the stall and is served by Alan, who finds the £50 on the floor and thinks it belongs to Jules, who refuses to take it as it is not his, so Alan looks after it until Carol comes along and pockets it. Sonia thinks it should be handed in to the police, but her suggestion is ignored. Mark walks in on Michelle and Geoff having breakfast and, once alone with her, they discuss her relationship with Geoff, she explains that despite him being twice her age she still enjoys being with him. He overhears the first half of her comment and starts to have doubts. Steve and Della have an argument over the hairdressers, and he suggests they host an offer event to entice customers in. Della is unhappy with the idea, but ultimately goes along with it. Geoff says goodbye to Michelle and sees himself off to work, claiming he has a seminar to lead. Michelle decides to phone the college later in the day and is baffled to learn there is no seminar, and she wonders if he has gone off of her already. Nellie panics upon realising her £50 has gone missing, and goes searching for it on Turpin Road, where Sonia finds her and asks her what she is doing. Upon learning the money is Nellie's, Sonia runs home and tells Alan and Carol they have to give the money back. However, Carol has already spent the money on beef and other items at the supermarket. Pat finds the note in the bread bin when making lunch and phones the police. Ricky and Janine continue their drive around Essex and surrounding areas looking for Frank, but Janine starts to get hungry and then wants to go home. Ricky gets tired of her whining and the pair start to bicker. A dog then runs into the road, causing Ricky to swerve the car down an embankment and into a tree. |
