Pat is overcome with worry. Frank phones the police station and learns that David was released two hours ago, and she finds him at the café and demands to know why he was arrested, so they head back to Number 41 and he explains to her and Frank that he was arrested because he argued with a woman at a bar and she claimed he assaulted her. Steve heads to Norwich. Frank is satisfied with David's explanation and leaves, but Pat is not fooled and knows he is lying. Tricky Dicky leaves his washing with Carol at the launderette. Carol makes Bianca and Natalie sort his washing out, and Bianca deliberately puts his expensive clothing in the hot wash pile. Steve comes face-to-face with Etta in Norwich and is reluctantly let in the house. However, Hattie is out. Jules notices Steve's absence at the Vic, and asks Grant if he has gone to Norwich. Etta cannot forgive Steve for what he has done to Hattie. She advises him not to wait around, as Celestine will not be happy to see him. Mark asks Ian how much he would sell the stall for. Ian wants £12,000 for it. Nigel is loving spending time with Debbie and Clare, but his inability to keep the flat tidy annoys Mark. Pat learns the truth from David - he slept with a 15 year old girl who told him she was 21. Etta is furious to find Steve snooping in Hattie's bedroom whilst she clears up and angrily tells him that he got her pregnant and she lost the baby. He is speechless at the news, and Etta blames him for Hattie's loss and demands he leaves. As Steve walks away, he notices a car pull up outside the Taverniers house - it is Hattie, and she has a new boyfriend. Steve walks away, downhearted. |
