Summary[]
Ian's continued job hunt remains unsuccessful. Arthur tries to get rid of Nellie and Michelle gets a new car.
Ian is smug after seeing Bianca leaving Tricky Dicky's flat. Arthur hands Nellie his forged letter from the council. Phil offers Steve his job back as a chef, but instead of working at the Vic, he works for Kathy, who bumps into Steve as he leaves the café and learns from him that she has supposedly given him a job. Carmen starts work on Sanjay's market stall pitch whilst he is away. She takes Steve's fancy. Arthur is pleased with himself, convinced he is going to get rid of Nellie. Michelle has a proposition for Arthur - he buys back her share of the larder so that she can buy a car of her own. He agrees to think about it. Pat tries to get Cindy to leave the twins for a bit so she can have some time out with Ian, who makes remarks to Tricky Dicky about him being old enough to be Bianca's grandfather. Jules looks at Nellie's letter. She is perplexed as to why Walford Council would be writing a letter to her when she lives in Ilford. Pat agrees to babysit the twins and Steven whilst Cindy and Ian go out for a meal. Arthur finds Nellie with Pauline at the launderette and panics when Pauline offers to let Nellie stay at Number 45 for longer. Nellie tells Arthur and Pauline she cannot stay because of her flat, but wants to talk to Walford Council first, so Arthur steps in and offers to go for her but Nellie thinks it is time for her to go home. An elated Arthur heads to the Vic to get drunk and gives Michelle the money for his share of the larder, and she goes and looks at a car in the car lot, where Ricky manages to sell it to her with the promise of a free repair if anything goes wrong. Bianca wants to see Tricky Dicky, but he does not let her in his flat. Michelle and Shelley go on a drive, but they do not get far as the car breaks down. Phil stops and helps, noticing the car has run out of petrol. Cindy and Ian's night out is cut short because Cindy cannot stop worrying about the twins. When she goes to check on them, she cries out to Ian to call for an ambulance as Peter's breathing is funny. Kathy spots the ambulance outside the flat and is beside herself with worry; she tries to talk to Ian but he wants nothing to do with her. Pat tells her what has happened as Phil hugs her and she cries. |
