Summary[]
Sanjay returns home after another heavy night with his friends. Ricky receives a visit from P.C. Williams over the threat he made against the schoolboy. Nigel shows Kathy an alarm he has and suggests he puts it up for her to deter anymore thefts from her home.
P.C. Morgan investigates the burglary at Kathy's flat, while she spends the night at Phil's. Arthur reads in the newspaper that Alfie Chapman has died, meaning that Pete can come home. He thinks he will win Pauline back over if the family come together for Christmas. Tricky Dicky thinks that Mandy and Aidan have had some sort of involvement in the burglary. Cindy returns to the café and begs Kathy to help her and Ian out as he is struggling. Pat learns that Frank hired someone to go and teach the rival cab firm a lesson, and also that it backfired. She tries to get him to let the rivalry go but he simply refuses to. Gita visits Doctor Legg over her recent thoughts and emotions. She is reassured that there is nothing wrong with how she is feeling. Ian snaps at Cindy after learning she has intervened with his work life once again. Frank makes hoax calls to the rival cab firm. Kathy sacks Sylvia to let Ian work for her instead. She is disappointed with her and insults the café before leaving. Pauline returns to find Arthur has set up a romantic candlelit dinner for them. Ricky tells Frank about his police visit, causing Frank to lose his temper. A power cut occurs across the Square, as Arthur and Pauline reminisce about the last time they had a power cut as they sit in darkness. When the lights come back on, Arthur shows Pauline the newspaper article about Alfie. Pauline thinks he has been selfish keeping the news from her and demands he gets his bags and leave. Kathy hears her newly-installed alarm going off and goes to investigate with Nigel and Phil. Tricky Dicky accuses Mandy and Aidan of being involved in the power cut. |
