Hattie keeps seeing children around the Square, wondering what it would be like if she went through with the pregnancy. Debbie returns to make amend with Nigel, but Nigel is reluctant to listen to her. Sylvia flirts with Ricky and encourages him to take her out for a drink in the evening. Clyde offers Hattie some insight into single parenting. Gita and Kathy both notice Arthur's new shirt. Gita points out that Christine bought the very same one from her stall just yesterday. Arthur brushes it off as just coincidence. Ian works his way into a contract with Sharon to start doing pub lunches again now that Steve has left. Phil helps Nigel realise he has not given Debbie a chance to explain herself; Nigel heads over to Debbie's flat and listens to what she has to say. He then befriends Clare over a video game. Kathy confronts Christine over Arthur, and she tells her they are having an affair; Kathy feels stupid and as though she should have realised sooner. She is unimpressed with Mrs. Hewitt and admits she would not have given her a job in the café if she had known beforehand.
