Summary[]
Pete phones the council to try and get them to deal with the noise of next door's flat. Ricky turns to Mark for a few beers to help him come to terms with his split from Sam. Meanwhile, the guilt of an affair plays on Arthur's conscience.

Rose makes an unexpected appearance at Pete's flat. She tries to tell him something but ends up spending the night there instead. She leaves the next morning after telling him that he should be aware that her husband is Alfie Chapman. Pete wonders what the significance of the name means. Michelle admits to Rachel that she thinks Jack is not understanding that she does not want a relationship. Pete lets Mandy work on his stall whilst he investigates Alfie. Sanjay Kapoor, a friend of Tricky Dicky's, buys fruit from Mandy and later gets her money belt back from a thief who tries to steal it from her. She gives him and Rachel some money so that he can have a drink on her. Pauline recognises Alfie's name and links it to the rough Chapman family who they used to know back at school. She advises he checks the name over with Arthur and tells him where he will find him. However, when Pete gets to the location, he only finds Mark, who tells him that Arthur is with a woman. Arthur visits Mrs Hewitt and explains that he feels terrible about lying. Sanjay asks Tricky Dicky to help him get back into the market trading business. Phil sheds more light on Alfie's name and tells Pete that he thinks one of the members of the family was involved in bank robberies. He suggests that Pete talks to Frank to get more information. Arthur panics when Mark tells him that he told Pete he was with a woman. He tells Mark he actually went to hospital because of his arthritis, but later has to change his story again when Pauline notices a letter from the hospital confirming a future appointment for his arthritis. Frank makes a phone call about Alfie for Pete and learns that he is in prison for armed robbery but is still infatuated with Rose and will make sure his family deal with anyone she has relationships with. Arthur tries confessing to Mark about his affair with Mrs Hewitt but cannot. He rushes over to Mrs Hewitt's to end the relationship, but she encourages him to talk his problems through first, so he ends up staying. Richard tells Rachel she can no longer keep the same stall every day and will have to go back to a first-come-first-serve basis. Rose returns to the Square and Pete kisses her, despite being aware of the potential consequences. |
