Nick returns to the courtroom as Clyde is further cross-examined. Arthur befriends footballer Aidan and Ricky and Sam are still not getting on.

Ricky and Sam's marriage continues to break down as Sam agrees with Ricky when he makes a throwaway remark about her running off with the man who tried it on with her the other night in the Vic.

Clyde is questioned about the bribe Eddie issued him with on the night he died.

Arthur spots talent in Aidan's football skills and tries to befriend him.

Pete is questioned over his involvement in Dot trapping Nick in the bedroom. Nick is then asked to recall what happened on the night of Eddie's murder. Nick claims Eddie had the knife and a scuffle resulted in him accidentally being stabbed.

Aidan visits Arthur at Number 45 to look at some photos of Walford Town F.C. Arthur asks Aidan not to mention anything about Mrs Hewitt to Pauline because she is not a very understanding woman.

The jury are asked to give their verdict on Nick. They reach a decision and Dot, Nick, Pete and John return to the courtroom. Nick is found not guilty.
