Pat walks out of the hospital in a state of shock. Cindy packs her bags and leaves Ian again. Mrs Hewitt lays down some ground rules with Arthur about their affair.

Arthur comments to Pauline how bad Pat looks after seeing her outside next door. Pat wants to go and visit the woman she ran over in hospital but Frank advises her against it. Ricky and Sam make up following yesterday's row. Phil tells Sharon that Ricky saw him leaving her bedroom and returning to his in the night, but he has fed him a lie so they should be safe. Nigel searches for a woman to attend the Vic's New Year party with, but has no success in finding anyone willing to go. Frank asks Rachel to try and talk some sense into Pat for him. She agrees to and heads over to see her, although she ends up inadvertently encouraging Pat to go to the hospital to see the woman. Cindy is thankful for letting Ian share his Christmas with her and Steven. Hattie decides she wants to get engaged to Steve and plans to ask him at the New Year's party. Mandy hears her telling Sam, so Hattie warns Mandy that if she tells anyone, she will regret it. Arthur lies to Mark and claims he is off on a job, when instead he is going to see Mrs Hewitt again. Phil tells Sharon that they are not going to work and what they had is gone. She receives a further blow when Michelle then informs her that the DJ they had booked for the evening's party is unable to attend so they need to find their own. Joan phones Frank and informs him that Mo died in the night. He is devastated and heads to break the news to Ricky. Ian tries kissing Cindy, leading her to rush off. Nigel finds her in the playground and invites her to the New Year's party. She tells him she will go, despite ignoring what he said. Frank and Ricky remember Mo and share a drink in her honour. Nigel DJ's the Vic's New Year's party. Pat returns to the Square in a taxi and sits in the gardens alone. Hattie tells Steve she wants them to get engaged. Arthur returns to the Vic just in time to see the New Year in. He tells Pauline the traffic on the way back from his "job" was bad. Frank finds Pat in the gardens. She breaks down and tells him the woman she ran over is dead. |
