Summary[]
PatCabs needs another driver. Rachel and Kathy grab some bargains at the jumble sale. Michelle gets a job offer. Sharon is impressed with Grant's hard work at the Vic.

Mandy decides to try and befriend Mark so that she can have a permanent place at the squat. Hattie gives Steve the cold shoulder. Kathy and Rachel go to a local jumble sale to buy stock for Rachel's new stall. Phil is putting in all the hard work redecorating the Vic, but Grant makes it out to Sharon it is him doing all the hard work. Michelle considers taking up the part-time job at the launderette. Mandy does Mark's washing for him. Mrs Hewitt continues to work her way further into Arthur's everyday life. Frank is annoyed when he mistakes Dennis, a man visiting the car lot for an interview with Pat for a minicab driver position, for a customer. Kathy and Rachel are pleased with their purchases at the jumble sale. Hattie calls Mandy a slag in the market. Arthur purchases a gnome but it soon goes missing at the Vic, irritating him. Sharon tells Grant she does not want him doing all the hard work redecorating. She wants Phil to pull his finger out and get to work too. Mark wishes that Mandy had asked him before doing his washing. He snaps at her and upsets her. Michelle takes Dot up on the offer of the part-time job at the launderette. Hattie is unable to stay annoyed at Steve and agrees to make them a romantic meal at Number 27. Dennis crashes the minicab into one of Frank's show cars, leaving Frank reeling. Mrs Hewitt agrees to make Arthur his favourite dessert - lemon meringue pie. Mandy makes Mark his tea. Ian tells Steve that a job has come up and he needs him to take it or else they will lose the catering contract. Steve goes to phone Hattie to cancel the meal but Ian phones the line before Steve can so that he cannot get through. Ian then offers to go over to Number 27 and tell Hattie about the cancellation once Steve has gone. Steve believes that Ian will, but once he has headed off in the van, Ian steers clear of Number 27, leaving Hattie crushed and feeling rejected. |
