Pete takes time off to treat Christine to a day at the races. Mandy is the subject of gossip in the Square. Dot interferes in Mark's life and gives Hattie shocking news.
|
Ricky thinks he should tell Mark about Mandy rummaging through his private letters, but Sam dissuades him from doing so. Pete and Mrs Hewitt head off to the races together without Arthur. Arthur gets jealous. Dot is looking for a part-time worker to help her out at the launderette but struggles to find someone suitable. Mandy runs Pete's stall for him and generates more public interest than normal. Pete wins big at the races with the betting. Dot tells Hattie about Steve entering and leaving the squat several times whilst Mandy was there. Hattie finds herself beginning to question Steve's loyalty. Mandy keeps some fruit back for herself on Pete's stall. Mrs Hewitt enjoys her time at the races. After they have returned, Mandy meets Pete to give him the day's takings. Pete is impressed at how much she has taken and gives her £60. Ricky decides to tell Mark that Mandy was going through his private belongings. He is unimpressed and confronts Mandy about it, but she insists she was looking for paper to write to Social Security. Mark wants to throw Mandy out but cannot, realising she will have nowhere to stay. He lets her stay at the squat another night, but when he goes to get into bed, he finds her asleep in it. |
