Dialogue[]
SUKI PANESAR: I am never going to be backed into a corner ever again.
EVE UNWIN: I should have just let you get the train.
SUKI PANESAR: Yeah…
EVE UNWIN: You know, all that stuff I said about rainbow kimonos and Brighton Beach it was just a stupid joke. Well, we're so close I could feel it and I just feel so happy that we might finally be free.
SUKI PANESAR: Eve…
EVE UNWIN: No, I, I need to say this. When I was young, I was told that being gay was wrong. My dad said it was a syndrome. But now it's just me. It's just a part of who I am but it took me like a whole lifetime to get there and you're just getting started. And I just need to remember how long it, erm... How long it took me to be able to say the word lesbian without being, erm, without feeling a hangover of shame. So, if we're still leaving tonight, we will go at your pace. As long as we do it together. I will never mention rainbow kimonos again.
(Suki produces two rainbow kimonos from a bag.)
EVE UNWIN: Where did you get those?
(Suki laughs as she puts one on.)
SUKI PANESAR: It's a pity because I was, erm, I was getting used to it.
(Eve takes her jumper off and puts on the other rainbow kimono.)
EVE UNWIN: Suki Panesar you are full of surprises.
SUKI PANESAR: This adventure we're on… This is the right path and this is me.
EVE UNWIN: This is us.
