Pete watches a videotape of Violet Beech. He phones her to arrange a date. Mark catches Gill as she is about to leave the Square, causing her to miss her bus. The pair head to Number 45 where she informs him that she now lives with another HIV positive woman and an AIDS woman. Mark lies to Gill and tells her he does not have HIV. Diane waits up all night to make sure Mark is okay, but he does not keep her updated. Frank and Pat catch Mark driving Gill home and worry about what to tell Diane. The next morning, Diane is found asleep in the B&B kitchen, having waited up all night for Mark. She heads over to see him and has a go at him for keeping her in the dark over what happened. Lloyd wants to be Clyde's corner man if he returns to boxing. Clyde tells Lloyd he needs time to think about whether he will return to boxing or not. Alfie agrees to consider him. Grant catches wind of Clyde's talks with Alfie and wants to go and see him. Ricky's interest in Sam begins to drift. Pete meets Violet at the Vic, but their date is interrupted by Big Ron sipping soup in the middle of them to wind Pete up. Grant and Phil visit Alfie to discuss buying Clyde's contract off of him.
