Diane phones Mark and tells him she wants to see him. Grant and Phil begin moving their belongings into Number 43. Arthur helps them to earn some money. Pauline asks Ian to give Mark some work. Ian asks Mark if he wants to work for him, but gets interrupted by Mr Blackburn, an inland revenue worker. Mr Blackburn gives Ian a warning over his tax avoidance. Ian blames Sharon for the mess. Pete asks Mark to drive him over to Jason's house so that he can see how he is getting on. Mark does, and while Pete knocks on the door, he contemplates phoning the AIDS helpline. He is unable to when no one answers the door and Pete returns before he can get to the phone box. Disa runs away from Dot after inviting her into the flat. Dot finds Disa at Number 45 and is unimpressed. She hands her the money that the man gave her and states she will keep a close eye on her on his behalf. Mark visits Diane. She hands him several AIDS leaflets and reassures him he can only transmit AIDS through blood-to-blood contact and sex. Mark is relieved and asks Diane to kiss him. She does not, instead helping him make sense of the situation and realising that him telling his family may not be so bad after all. Mark decides it is time to tell his family and heads home to tell them, but when he sees Arthur and Pauline, he freezes. He ends up keeping the truth from them, and tells Pauline she has nothing to worry about. Diane phones Mark from her bedroom and tells him that she loves him. He puts the phone down on her. |
