Summary[]

Revelations threaten to rock Stuart and Rainie, Tina unravels under the mounting pressure, and Kim falls at the final hurdle. Denise insists on a traditional Christmas for Raymond.

Stuart books another appointment with the surrogacy unit so that he and Rainie can get back on the waiting list, but when he informs Rainie she will need another blood test, she gets defensive.

Ben shocks Ian with his presence on the Square, having been released from the police station following his interview. Ian is frightened upon finding a bullet inside an envelope addressed to him.

Denise wants a traditional Christmas for Raymond, which includes attending a Christmas Day church service. Kim is not keen on the idea.

Callum upsets Rainie when he asks her if she assaulted Ian.

Kim and Mila go head-to-head at the Prince Albert for the bartender job. They fight for a bottle of alcohol which they both need to use for their cocktails and end up smashing it in front of Kathy.

Denise meets with Pastor Lawrence to discuss attending his church's Christmas Day service.

Kim gives Kathy a sob story in the hopes of securing the job, but Mila impresses Kathy by confessing that it was her who broke the bottle, so is given the job instead.

Gray wants his children back and Tina to leave his house as she is messy. Shirley insists she will leave with Tina if he throws her out.

Stuart cites Rainie's disappearance as a cause for her shifty behaviour. She wants to tell him everything but fears he will walk out on her.

An energised Patrick returns from Trinidad. Denise is unimpressed to catch him and Kim drinking rum at the Vic and reiterates that they are having a traditional Christmas.

Rainie admits to Stuart that she got high on the night of Ian's attack. Stuart appreciates her honesty, and then reveals he killed DI Thompson on the night of Ian's attack by punching him to the ground. Rainie learns that he stripped DI Thompson naked afterwards, burnt his clothes, and is now storing him in the funeral parlour's freezers. The pair are overcome with lust over their wrongdoings and have sex in the bedroom.

Shirley tells Tina that Gray considered killing himself and his children by blowing up the house as he struggled to cope with Chantelle's death. Tina brands him a killer.

Suki serves Ben at the Minute Mart and shakes him up with the news she has had CCTV installed outside the shop, which shows him leaving the Vic on the night of Ian's attack. She wants £10,000 in exchange for her silence.

  • This episode contained flashback footage of Rainie and Stuart Highway on the night Ian Beale was attacked. The scenes were incorporated into the episode as the characters explained their whereabouts on the night and the reasons behind them.
  • This episode was filmed with social distancing rules being observed by both cast and production crew, even when the actors were playing family members or characters of a shared residence. The episode was also shortened to twenty-one minutes to facilitate new filming techniques.
