Summary[]

Sharon returns to the pub to find Ian lying motionless on the floor and immediately calls Kathy. Unable to find a pulse, they panic as they wait for the ambulance to rush him to hospital, while the police are quickly on the scene and suspicions are running high.

Linda returns home dead in the night to find Mick waiting for her in the dark. Max leaves her a message telling her not to worry about Ian anymore.

Sharon returns to the Vic to find a bruised Ian laying motionless on the bar's floor.

A panicked Tina leaves Kathy a voicemail telling her that something has happened between her and Ian and she's sorry. A distraught Kathy races into the Vic and is to relieved to find Ian breathing. Ian's rushed to Walford General.

The next morning, the Vic has been taped off and forensics are all over the place. "BURN IN HELL" has been graffitied on the front doors. Jack assures Kathy they'll find out who did this. Max watches on from the other side of the Square easily.

Peter's shocked to hear the news. Bobby believes that Lucy's back after finding blood on the living room floor in the spot she was killed. Peter warns him to stop talking like this and begs him to keep quiet about what they spoke about - wishing Ian was dead. Kathy won't believe it when Peter tells him that Ian stole the Lucy Beale foundation money to stitch up Max. Kathy gets suspicious as to where Peter got the bruise on his face from.

Rainie has gone missing and Stuart is frantically trying to track her down. He tells everyone that she's bed bound with a stomach bug.

Max tells Linda that she has to be his alibi, despite her protests on what Mick will think of them being together.

Suki reminds Kheerat that she already has one son in prison.

Stuart asks Callum if he has any news on who battered Ian. Callum reminds him that he can't share that kind of information. Stuart confides in him about Tiffany letting them down on Ian's doing.

Shirley comes to Tina's rescue after seeing her battered lip. Tina explains to her that she got into a scrap with Ian at Number 45 and left him lying on the living room floor after he tripped and fell onto the living room table. Shirley tells her there's nothing that can pin her to Ian - she left him at Number 45.

Kathy assures a disorganised Bobby with a story about Ian peddling into the back of a bus when he was twelve. Ash informs the Beales' that Ian is waking up.

Linda tells Jack that the attack had nothing to do with Max because he was with her. She's reassured that nobody on the Square will know, but DCI Arthurs will as this is his case.

Meanwhile, Kathy's at Ian's bedside. He tells her that Tina attacked him before the machine bleeps and Ash calls out for help.

  • This episode was filmed with social distancing rules being observed by both cast and production crew, even when the actors were playing family members or characters of a shared residence. The episode was also shortened to twenty minutes to facilitate new filming techniques.
