Suki orders Vinny to leave – he was never here. She instructs Jags to wipe the shop’s CCTV footage and to smash the back door in, while she tries to figure out a story to explain the incident. Suki comes up with the development of she entered the closed shop and witnessed the attack on Martin before the assailant fled. Jags suggest telling the police the truth about what happened; it’s the right thing to do. Suki’s livid and orders Kheerat to sort him out, to which Kheerat reminds him that family comes first. Ruby witnesses Martin carting off in the ambulance. Suki tells Ash that Vinny has been with her all day if anyone asks as the police start sniffing around. The Panesar’s are in turmoil – Ash is raging, Martin could have a brain injury. Suki’s taken charge and belittles Jags. And Vinny’s paranoid. Jags decide enough is enough and tells Kheerat he’s been seeing Habiba over the past couple of months and he’s decided he’s cashing in his family, and winning Habiba back, and throws Kheerat his lucky poker chip. Meanwhile, at The Vic, Ian’s gutted to have gotten the wrong impression from Sharon. After Dotty publicly humiliates him in the pub, he starts packing his bags. Sharon’s piteous when she discovers that Ian bought her the pub under false pretences and feelings, and while arriving back home after months in lockdown with his supposed love at the pub, Ian wallows in his pity, comforted by Kathy. There’s friction between Ben and Callum. Ben apologises for lying and begs Callum to do something to help them. He pleads with Callum to wipe the CCTV footage. Callum refuses – Ben only cares about himself and Phil, and Phil has dug his own grave, Phil can lay it in it. Ben tries explaining his actions for participating in the warehouse job and presents Callum with the surprise house key he had lined up and asks him to move in with him. The romantic gesture doesn’t go as planned when Callum assumes that it’s a quick fix to their problems. Despite his protests, there’s nothing Callum can do now to save Ben’s back – the CCTV footage is already down at the lab to be enhanced. Ben’s fearful, contemplating doing a runner. Callum pleads with him, and Ben suddenly has a light-bulb moment – if the police want to find something on Danny, why don’t they get ahead of the game and set Danny up. Linda reminds Mick that he needs to hurry up and get himself a job. The money they earned from selling the Vic won’t last forever. Tina’s frosty with Frankie in The Prince Albert. She expresses her concerns to Peter, concluding that Frankie is useless purely because she’s deaf and would struggle with a bar full of customers shouting orders. Frankie senses an atmosphere, and when two men get rowdy with a woman in the bar, she soon proves herself to Tina when she throws them out. Chantelle tells Gray that the only reason her engagement ring is missing is that the stone was loose. His temper soon flares up, and Chantelle assures him that she didn’t take the ring off because she doesn’t love him. She suggests taking the kids out for a milkshake, or even the full day while Gray is working from home but is left defeated when Gray hands her over a ten-pound note and instructs her to come straight back after getting the milkshakes. In the Square gardens, the idea of going away with the Taylors’ when she finds out they are going to Southend-on-Sea tomorrow appeases Chantelle, and she prepares the kids for it. Later on, Chantelle meets Kheerat on the front door step after receiving a phone call. He hands her over Jags’ lucky poker chip and tells her anytime she wants to cash it in, she gives it back. In return, she gets him. As Kheerat walks away, Chantelle grips the chip tightly in her hands while a smile slowly appears on her face.
