Summary[]

Karen is concerned by Keanu's bruised appearance but he refuses to say what happened, leading to an argument - and things do not get any better when Keegan tries to reason with his brother. Rainie teases Max after learning he has joined a dating site. Mel's hopes of a romantic lunch with Jack do not go to plan and Ted finds a message in a bottle.


Keanu refuses to tell Karen what happened to his face but he tells Keegan, who says it might remind Karen of Keanu's father, Shane. Karen admits to Keanu that Shane was violent and says Keanu is not like him, but Keanu throws something at Hayley out of frustration, narrowly missing her.

Rainie sees Max is on a website for married people to find no-strings sex, but tries to convince him that he may not be able to trust the women and Jack may get suspicious, and they should have "no strings" sex just once. Max agrees until a woman responds to him on the website and Rainie is annoyed.

Mel dislikes it when Amy asks if she will marry Jack and be her new mother.

Bernadette sees Ted's flat is a mess and asks Patrick to get him outdoors. Ted then finds a message in a bottle at the allotment from Joyce.
