Summary[]

As the residents prepare to celebrate New Year's Eve, Aidan pulls together the final pieces of his plan, leaving Mick with a big decision. Kush and Denise's plans for a quiet night in together backfire when it turns out Carmel and Shakil have nowhere to stay, while the rest of the locals make sure 2017 goes out with a bang at the Carters' party.

Mick asks Aidan to re-join the gang but Aidan makes him beg, so Mick refuses. However, when the others get drunk the night before the heist, Aidan agrees to have Mick back.

Max tries to sell the Albert Square properties to raise money for Abi's care. In the hospital, Cora slaps Max but later apologises and they support each other. Doctor Harding delivers Abi's baby, a girl, but insists there is nothing he can do for Abi.

Kush does not tell Denise that Carmel and Shakil will be moving in, having been evicted by Masood, so when they arrive, Kush and Denise are naked but they manage to laugh it off.

Karen convinces Joyce to go out to celebrate the new year.
