Summary[]

The Carters receive yet more bad news when they reach their overdraft limit, meaning that they are unable to order stock for the Vic. Michelle and Sharon try to mend Bex and Louise's friendship. Meanwhile, Donna spends her first night in her new home playing drinking games with Abi, Ben and Jay. A nervous Lauren heads for her job interview and on the way in she bumps into Josh, who offers her a few words of encouragement.


Johnny tells Shirley that the brewery won't deliver as the last cheque bounced. The loan company ring Shirley and refuse her a loan, which leaves her fuming. Shirley is impressed when Woody's cocktails prove popular and fill the tills. Johnny tells Shirley that he paid off the brewery with his student loan. Shirley asks Kim for a loan for Lady Di's treatment, but Kim tells her that Lady Di is not worth the money. Furious, Shirley throws Kim out. Shirley is in the kitchen staring at a pile of bills when Dot enters with a present for Lady Di and some wise words for Shirley. Max suggests to Shirley that she sells the freehold to the pub in order to solve their money problems.

Ian practices interview techniques with Lauren and tells her that her CV is rubbish. At Canary Wharf, Lauren is shocked when Josh enters the interview room. He chases after her as she leaves the building and they have a heated argument which leads to a kiss. Josh walks off leaving Lauren stunned. She then receives a text from Josh leaving her unsettled and questioning her feelings for him.

Michelle and Sharon bring Bex and Louise to the allotments to try and sort out their problems. Bex tells Louise that they can be friends if she stops hanging around with Alexandra and Madison. Bex and Louise bump into Alexandra and Madison and Bex is furious when Louise doesn't take her side in front of them and storms off. Louise makes excuses and goes home. Alexandra and Madison are furious with Louise for disrespecting them.

Ben and Jay help Donna move her things into the flat. Abi turns up with board games. Abi, Jay, Ben and Donna sit around drinking and playing board games. When Ben and Abi pass out on the sofa, Jay and Donna have a heart to heart chat.
