Summary[]

Konrad invites Shirley out for dinner and after Mick receives disappointing news about the Vic ceiling, the local shopkeeper offers to fix it for half the price. Denise speaks to a journalist about the state of the community. Meanwhile, Ian suffers an embarrassing incident, prompting him to tell Jane the truth about what the nurse said to him.


Dot is told that she can no longer drive until she informs the DVLA of her failing eyesight; Jack confronts Dot for putting Matthew in danger, but after Abi intervenes, he offers to help Dot. Kim drunkenly confronts Dot over an accident they were involved in, which Kim took the blame for, and says that Dot should not be allowed to drive, but hugs her when Dot cries.

Madison and Alexandra see Preston with Bex and later tells Bex that everyone knows that she had sex with him. Michelle demands that Preston leaves immediately but soon realises that he was using Bex to make Michelle jealous; he takes Michelle upstairs to bed.

Konrad offers to help fix the Vic's leaks at a cheap price and Jack offers Mick a loan to pay his debts.

Denise meets reporter Marcus Leask, telling him that the community no longer help each other and the shop where she works does not help people by increasing its prices.

Jane vows to help Ian lose weight.

Whitney is happy to be working in the Vic again.
