Summary[]
Sharon is shocked when she finds a ring on Jackie's stall that looks just like Den's. Nick convinces Dot that she's not eating as well as she could be, and offers to cook all her food to give her a good balanced diet, based on all that he learnt in the prison kitchen. Frank informs the brewery he wants to give up the Vic, but they say there is at least a 12 month notice period, although they might reduce it to three months in exceptional circumstances.

Sharon is left speechless when, whilst searching for a birthday present for Kathy on the stalls, she finds a signet ring which looks strikingly similar to Den's. Frank is unsure what to do when the brewery tell him that it could take up to twelve months to get a new landlord at the Vic. His matters are not helped when he learns that Sparrow has also quit. Sharon buys the signet ring. Arthur delays searching for a job in favour of working on his allotment. Nick takes an interest in Dot's diet. Arthur and Martin dig up a teapot and part of a horn. Sharon's mind plays on the signet ring. She asks Jackie if he can remember who he bought the ring from - Jackie recalls a young boy named Billy giving him the ring. Frank decides to follow Diane when she leaves the Square on a bus. Sharon questions Michelle on what Den was wearing the day he died. Michelle looks at the ring and is certain it is his. The pair question Billy over the ring and he takes them to the canal where he found it. Michelle tells Sharon she did not meet Den where the ring was found. Sharon tells Michelle she is going to get the police to search the canal again. |
