Summary[]
Nick is hanging around annoying everyone else while Detective Sergeant Quick hangs around watching him. Kelvin gets his school results. Den takes a stand that infuriates Dot - who is upset generally at the attitudes of others towards Nick. Angie arrives home unexpectedly.
Nick sits in the Square gardens looking over to the Vic. Kelvin is nervous about the results of his O-levels. Andy tries to cheer Debbie up following their run together. Nick arrives in the Vic and orders a drink from Lofty. Den quickly bars Nick from the Vic. As Nick walks across the Square he sees Michelle. He talks with Michelle but is disturbed by DS Quick, who is following Nick around. Sharon tries to flirt with Lofty but is unsuccessful. As Tony redecorates the café, Kelvin walks in with his exam envelope. Tony opens it and Kelvin learns he has failed his maths and English O-levels, but has passed chemistry, geography and French. Tony blames Kelvin's failure on his divorce and Michelle. Tony recommends Kelvin retaking his maths and English exams, but Kelvin is against the idea. Nick walks into the café and looks for a job from Tony, but he is unsuccessful. Dot confronts Den in the Vic over Nick, and protests Nick's innocence before telling him she will no longer be drinking in the pub. In the launderette, Dot tells Pauline about her confrontation with Den, but when Pauline makes a remark about Nick's guilt simply not being able to be proven, Dot gets upset. Nick then visits Dot in the launderette, but DS Quick is not far behind. DS Quick tells Dot she may not be safe in her own home whilst Nick is there. Ian gets a lecture from Arthur and Pauline about staying away from Nick. Den tries to arrange to meet his mistress again, but his plans are thwarted when Angie returns from the health farm unexpectedly. Lofty stitches himself to the sweater he is sewing. Angie realises Den is still talking to his mistress. Nick looks around the Square with a menacing face as he smokes a cigarette. |
