Summary[]
The market traders' future seems to be in jeopardy. Kathy has an encounter with Nick in the launderette. Diane gets a visit from Matthew, the photographer she spent the week with whilst she was sleeping rough.

Matthew secretly takes photos of Diane as she stares out her bedroom window into the Square. The Walford Gazette creates uproar with a news headline about the uncertainty of the future of the market. Shireen is hesitant about checking up on Diane since her return. Pete vents to Arthur and Pauline about the newspaper headline. Arthur and Pauline feel bad about taking the £3500 off of Pete when he is facing financial uncertainty. Matthew phones Diane but she is not interested in what he has to say. Sharon gets Simon to help Ian paint the living room of his flat. Kathy is angry when she comes face-to-face with Nick at the launderette. Nick tries to convince her he is a changed man. Frank gets Doctor Legg to check Diane over. Doctor Legg tells Diane she must drink more water and eat healthily or else she could be facing lifelong illnesses. Arthur tells Pete he can have the £3500 back, but Pete does not want it. Dot starts to think Nick is a changed man. Frank visits Grant and Phil, catching them working on a dodgy motor. Frank offers Diane a job with him at the car lot. Diane tells Frank she wants to go back to school. Cindy is not a fan of the living room which Ian and Simon have painted. Simon offers to stay behind whilst Ian works to finish the job. Frank answers the phone to Matthew in the night and thinks he is one of Mostyn's associates. He tells Matthew he will have the money for Mostyn when he can get it. The next morning, Dot finds a naked sculpted statue on the Square. She tells Frank to have a look at the statue - he is shocked to realise it is of Diane. |
