Summary[]
Ethel raises concerns among the hotel staff when she keeps taking a duffel bag outside. Meanwhile, Arthur worries about Pauline, who has had her operation and Sufia confides in Kathy about her marriage to Ashraf.

The receptionist asks to go into Dot and Ethel's room but Dot denies him access. Marge enjoys breakfast with Mr. Conroy. Mo clashes once again with Ted. The ladies then head to the old time dancing contest. Mo has no partner so does not dance. Instead, she gets to know Ted a little better. Ethel meets another dog on the beach - the owner is the receptionist. Ethel and the receptionist begin talking and get along well. Mr. Conroy shows Marge around Clacton-on-Sea and they enjoy each other's company. Mr. Conroy asks Marge to marry him but she says no. He feels he has made a fool of himself. Marge asks him to dance with her and he agrees, but secretly tells the receptionist he will be leaving the hotel after the dance. Ian tells Kathy that he will get to know Laurie better for her. Mo and Ted tell each other more about their history. Marge and Mr. Conroy have their waltz together. Afterwards, Mr. Conroy leaves quietly. Marge receives a phone call from the hospital, who inform her that her mother has died. She is devastated. |
