Mo waits in the hallway of the upstairs flat at the Vic for Diane and Paul, making sure they cannot sneak into each other's bedrooms. Dot plans a meeting to oppose the planned opening of an amusement arcade where the wine bar used to be. A woman, Joan, arrives on the Square in search of her husband, Tommy Leggett. Julie plans on leasing the basement of the wine bar, and asks Paul and Trevor to renovate it for her. Ethel, Marge and Mo think Julie is planning on opening a brothel. Dot befriends Joan at the launderette as she searches for her estranged husband. Sharon sees Michelle outside the Vic and they talk. She asks Michelle to move back into her flat. Cindy cancels her abortion appointment. The meeting commences at Dot's house over the amusement arcade. Arthur and Pete cross-dress in a joke protest, wanting a brothel. Paul gives Julie a cheap quote, which she does not appreciate. She takes him to the upstairs flat of the Vic and talks with him about it. Diane overhears their conversation. She gets jealous and confronts Paul over it, telling him that if he likes her he will punch Julie. Paul says he will so she changes her mind and admits she is just jealous. They kiss and make up. Ashraf winds Pete up by pretending to flirt with him. Dot takes Joan back to her house as they wait for Tommy to show up. They talk about their respected husbands and notice their men share a lot in common. Dot shows Joan a photo of Charlie. Joan is mortified. Charlie, who she knows as "Tommy", is also her husband. |
