Summary[]

Jay is pushed to breaking point as the past catches up with him, and he is forced to sleep rough. Meanwhile, Shirley faces a day of reckoning that will change her life forever.

'Murderer' has been daubed across Phil's back wall. Shirley scrubs at it and avoids Andrew. She's astounded when Phil plans a family lunch but agrees to it, to Roxy's surprise. In the Minute Mart, Shirley overhears Jack, Kim and Alfie discuss whether she knew Ben killed Heather. Denise wants Shirley to stay with her, surprised when Shirley defends Phil. Andrew demands Shirley swear she didn't know. In R&R, Phil confides in Sharon about his involvement in Heather's murder. Shirley insists they wait when Phil's late for lunch. When Lexi cries after waking alone, Shirley storms to R&R and reminds Phil he was last late to a meal when he left George alone with Heather's body. Holding up her red paint-stained hands, Shirley insists it's Mitchell blood - not hers - and declares it's over.

At the B&B, Sharon discovers Kim and Denise squabbling over her wedding dress. Denise claims they require £60 deposit. Sharon asks Ian, then Janine for a job with no success. In R&R, Phil agrees to find her some work.

Kat spots Jay eating out of a bin, she and Patrick realise he's slept rough. When Max angrily accosts Jay, Patrick defends him. Cora's surprised that Patrick's taking Jay in. Patrick remembers what it is to be hated. Jay tries to speak to Lola but she recoils as Jay reaches out to Lexi. Saddened, Jay retreats to the B&B.

Lucy resists Ian's attempts to help her. Sharon thinks Ian should prove he's trustworthy. Lucy finds Ian reading The Wind in the Willows to Dennis. Lucy denies reading it with Ian but he finds her name in the cover.

At McKlunky's, Alfie's appalled by Nico's treatment of Fatboy. On Alfie's advice, Fatboy rallies a fellow employee and sticks up to Nico. Nico takes Fatboy's speech as his resignation.
