Summary[]

Phil and Ben are rocked by news of Ian's return. Kat takes charge of the football team. Kim believes that Ray is about to take their relationship to the next level.


Posters are up advertising a community day featuring Shirley's sponsored abseil. Ian's still not talking. Backed up by Joey, Lucy resists Lauren and Tanya's attempts to get her to take Ian back. Ben and Phil are shocked and unsettled to see the state Ian's in and take him home with them in order to keep him away from any doctors or psychiatrists. Lucy covers her hurt when Lauren says Ian hasn't asked about her. Ben's nervous when Shirley talks to Ian. When Jay finds out Ian's in the house he thinks Ben and Phil have lost their minds. Ian continues to be unresponsive until Shirley mentions Heather when his eyes are suddenly alert and focussed.

The football team's enthusiasm is waning. Only Andrew turns up for a training run and Tyler, Anthony and Ray have dropped out altogether. Determined, Kat summons the boys to a meeting in the Vic and flirtatiously lectures them until they're all back on board. Watching from across the bar, Michael and Derek admire Kat.

Ray lies to Kim that he's got to go to the wholesalers when he's actually doing early prep at the Vic because he's got plans later. Alfie's surprised to learn Kat's had a key cut for Ray. Finding a pile of property details, Kim convinces herself Ray's going to ask her to move in with him.

Derek pays Anthony a warning visit before his date with Alice. Taking Tyler's advice, Anthony does everything he can to put Alice off during the date, but she quickly rumbles him. He relaxes when she admits she's scared and they start getting on well. Anthony ends the date with a friendly kiss on the cheek, sure he's off the hook. Derek's not impressed – thanks to Joey he knows the date involved a McKlunky's takeaway eaten in the Square.
